Mari 
Lassie loves cats... I remember when she raised those kittens- not time for memories, Mari.

Quinn 
He returned his attention to his two acquaintances in time to catch a familiar look to Mari's eyes. "Reminiscing?" The simple question lacked his usual sarcastic edge but held none of the warmth it had when speaking to the girl. This last part was carefully intentional.

Mari 
Mari shrugged it off. "I suppose so."

Shane
"Who wants to see my past?" Shane said. "Oh, pfft, never mind I wouldn't do that."

Quincy 
"Self-pity never got anyone anywhere," Quinn replied to Shane. No, Quinn never pitied himself. Sure, life was tough. But Rosie had it harder, and still managed to be the happy-go-lucky sister she ways had.

Shane
Shane nodded. "There's not a whole lot to pitty," he mumbled.

Quincy
He sighed quietly, looking at the entry to the park. Obviously his point hadn't been made quite clear. Oh well. "Do you guys know if we have to attend another one of those things today?"

Shane
"Duh," Shane murmured. "It's basically training everyday until someday when the training's over."

Mari 
Mari nodded, curls bouncing. "I assume so. I only have half day today, so I'll probably head over early." She buried herself in her sweaters, trying to keep warm in this ice cube.

Shane
Shane looked over at Mari, noting her coldness. "You'll get used to the weather eventually. It took me a while," he assured.

Quincy
He groaned. "Great. Just what I need." Quinn reached into his pocket and pulled out a packet of hand warmers, tossing them to Mari. "Shake them to activate. They'll heat up quickly."

Shane
"You seemed in a rush to get back home last night," Shane pointed out to Quinn, although he was sure it was already obvious to the boy.

Quincy 
"My sister was waiting for dinner. Of course I was in a hurry." He didn't dwell too long on the word "home."

Shane
"I'm guessing younger sister then?" Shane questioned, although he didn't mean it in any way. He was just curious.

Quincy 
"Yes." If Shane had remembered Quinn's hurry but not his outburst (which he now regretted), Quinn would not be repeating it.
