"... visiting an old friend?" Skye replied, fidgeting with her jacket sleeve. Definitely not something illegal, no. 

Ashwin
He started to nod and then froze. His eyes narrowed slightly with suspicion. She hesitated. And sounded pretty uncertain to boot. The movement of her hand drew his attention and he glanced down. "Doing that draws attention to it. If you don't want people to notice, that's probably not the best thing to do. Though I guess most people wouldn't think twice about it. Why'd you hesitate?"

Skye shrugged, letting her left hand fall to her side. "I'm going to visit an old friend," she repeated. 

Ashwin
He sighed. He had been sure that would have worked to get some sort of explanation. It was a tactic a friend in the force had taught him. Make a more personal comment, then add a very different question at the end. Often it threw the person off guard enough to get at least a sliver of an answer. Ash paused to check the time. He still had a few more minutes before he had to rendezvous with the officer switching out. "Where at?" The more hesitant tone of voice gave away that this was not part of the earlier questioning.

Jackie headed down fifth street trying her hardest to not look suspicious. She had chosen this area since it wasn't patrolled as much. Rumor had it that this was because it was farthest from the lair of the Head, but nobody knew for sure.

"Just a few streets down."

An odd feeling he couldn't place - adrenaline? excitement? whatever it was it was out of place - hit him and he tried to brush it aside. "Then it's either inside or near the sector I'll be working." He glanced behind him at the sound of someone walking past the alleyway, then turned back to her. "I could walk you there?" The copper color of his skin darkened slightly across his cheeks at the slightly uncertain offer.

Skye 
"... okay," Skye said, shoving away everything telling her to say no. You're going to a top secret REBEL MEETING. People don't bring law enforcement to an uprising.

Ashwin
Ash blinked, mildly surprised. When it actually registered, his mouth moved with an involuntary, "Great!" He pulled out his hologram display and double tapped. It brought up the holographic image of the city. He ran his finger down the device in a long stroke to turn off the red dot outlining the sector he was to patrol in for his shift. "General location so I know somewhat of where to go?" Ash closed the gap and turned the same direction as her so she could see the map better and point it out.

Skye marked a place near where she was headed, just to be careful. "Thanks."

"Yeah, no problem. Let's head out, otherwise I'll be late. I found out the hard way that my coworkers do not appreciate tardiness." He flashed a grin down at her before stepping back. "Ladies first." 

Skye 
Skye smiled back. "Neither do mine, if that's what we're calling them. They're probably better described as... like-minded people."

Ashwin
For some reason this information did not register like most of the clues he had been given as to her identity. He gestured toward the end of the alley for her to go ahead. 

Skye 
He's either not going to comment or hasn't realized what I said, which is unlike him, Skye thought as she walked. Who am I kidding? I've only known him since he ARRESTED me.

Ashwin
He glanced over at her, easily keeping step. His fingers twisted the volume up a little on his transmitter and he cleared his throat nervously. It's not too late to back out. This isn't like me. Where did the idea come from again? "So are you, uh, busy tonight? After your thing at your friends, of course."
