Jackson
"I should probably go back a little and explain. Everyone has an element, right? There are different things that some people are better at than others, like me, for example. I'm better at earthquakes, growing things, and taking care of animals than, say, moving mountains or buildings. Just varies person to person." Except for Alex. Stop thinking about her, Jax. She's gone. Get over it.

Outlaw
She grumbled as she trotted the horse through the woods towards the school, her duffel bag strapped on behind the saddle. She reined it in as they reached the gates, and dismounted with a sigh. “New people, new place. Yippee” she grumbled to the mare, who nuzzled her.

Raphael
"Oh, okay." He looked away from the burro's tail. "Do you think - Would I be allowed to keep that in my dorm?" Raffi hadn't looked for dorm assignments yet, but he knew he would want to decorate it with plants. And he had already started forming a bond with the donkey's tail (don't judge him, it happens sometimes okay). It would need a name, of course, and - don't get ahead of yourself, it might have to stay down here.

Jackson nodded. "I don't see why not. Plants are a lot safer than giant ice spikes sharp enough to impale someone, so I think you'll be fine."

Kenna
Kenna stood watching people go about doing whatever they were doing for a few minutes, then checked the dorm assignments. They hadn't been posted yet. Must be running late this time, she decided, turning abruptly and weaving through a cluster of students to head back outside and look for something to do. She peeked inside the greenhouse and spotted two boys talking, but left them be, plants weren't her thing.

He didn't question the oddly specific item description, reaching up and carefully taking the hanging basket's rope from the hook. He cradled the round woven object to his chest and carefully fingered one "leaf" of the succulent. It seemed plump enough, healthy. Raffi glanced at the soil, wishing he had checked before. It was good for succulents, with good drainage. He nodded to himself, satisfied the burro's tail was in proper conditions. He blinked, eyes narrowing, and held the basket at arms' length. Was it just him, or was it just a tiny bit longer than before? He brought it back against him and waved a thanks to the other boy, exiting the greenhouse, completely absorbed in the succulent. What should your name be, little plant?

Outlaw
She led the horse into the stables, placing her in the stall she’d been directed to when she’d first asked about bringing the mare. Outlaw untacked the black and placed it neatly in the tack room, taking off her duffel bag as she did so. “Be good, no picking fights” she sternly told the horse before leaving the stables and slowly making her way towards the house, taking her time.

Intercom system
"All students, please make your way to the dorm building. Dorm assignments are now posted and the introduction assembly will take place in the amphitheatre in an hour and a half. Thank you."
Jackson
Hearing the announcement, Jackson worked his way to the dorms.

Kenna
Kenna glanced up at the announcement, and jogged towards the dorm building, like the intercom directed.

She glanced at the dorm assignments and grinned. Good, no one to share it with. She got her key and room number then headed up the stairs and found her room, tossing her bag on the bed. She went and looked out the window, glad she was overlooking the stables.

He had decided on the name Eeyore for the donkey's tail when the intercom system blurted out the announcement, and he fumbled the basket a little with his surprise. When he fumbled a feeling of fear radiated from the plant, which made him fumble more, which caused even more fear to radiate from the basket. Finally Raphael adjusted his grip and held it firmly against him, and the fear faded away. What was that?! Still mulling over what that meant, he walked into the dorm building. There were the posted dorm assignments, and he walked closer to read them. Oh, fun. He tried not to let himself get nervous as he searched for somewhere to find his dorm number and a key. I won't get bullied - you don't know that - it'll be fine - no it won't. Raffi's fingers tightened around the hanging basket and he finally found a desk. "Uh, hello. Raphael Leoni. I'm just wondering where I can find out my dorm number and get a key. I saw the dorm assignments posted..." He faded out as he realized he was rambling.

Blaine
She approached the list hesitantly, hanging back a bit before the area was relatively empty for time being. A roommate. Yay. "I wonder how they expect us to find our dorms without more information?," she asked herself aloud, sighing with exasperation and dread as she trudged towards where she vaguely remembered a staff member's desk to be.

Julian
The tall boy nudged his way through the crowd, coming to stop at one of the only open spots at a desk, grinning down at the receptionist whilst leaning over the counter, arms propping him up. "Hey, Janice. How's Mittens?" He laughed as the woman spoke animatedly about her cat - Julian had bought a kitten from her last semester, so they knew each other well. A man waved at him from a desk to his left, and he squeezed in beside a guy who was surprisingly taller than he was. "Yeah, I'm here for my room key, Costigan?" He strained trying to hear the man over the ruckus. "Yeah, Julian." He caught the keys hastily thrown to him, and he waved. "Thanks!"
Evan
"Okay Mom, bye!" She grinned through the dusty window of the car as she waved at the retreating station wagon, hoisting her smaller backpack further onto her shoulders and reaching for her suicade handle, trudging with the crowd towards a handful of stressed looking receptionists.

Kenna
She wove through some students crowded around the assignments, and scanned it quickly until she got to her name. She frowned. Iris... She didn't know her. She looked at the bag slung over her shoulder, which was getting heavier by the second, and decided to check out her dorm. It was something to do, anyway.
She strode briskly towards a help desk in order to ask for her key, along with a little stream of other students who obviously had the same idea, then figured this one was too crowded. She headed towards another one, which she found to be a little less crowded, and got in line, tapping her foot as non-obviously as she could as she waited for the student in front of her to be finished.

He accepted the key handed him and was given a slip of paper with a room number on it. "Second floor." Raffi nodded, still in a bit of a daze from the whole fumbling experience, and walked away from the desk. So the plant was afraid - is that possible? - and I felt it. What. No. Yes? I don't know. Dorm room, right right. He found a set of stairs and started up them, knowing full well there was probably an elevator but not wishing to be stuck in one with strangers who might want to strike up conversation or make fun of his plant. He stepped into a hallway on the second floor and wandered down it, realizing halfway down that he needed to actually look at what room number he was assigned. He glanced at the scrap of paper and then at the numbers by the doors. He hadn't passed it yet, good. He finally found it and unlocked it, nudging it open with his foot and stepping inside.
