"So, what exactly are we doing here?" he asked quietly. 

Charity
"Mostly making sure Nook is still alive..." she mumbled.

Ahanu
He's the sick one, right? "What happened to him?" Ahanu asked, trying not to talk too loudly. 

Charity
"He was abandoned by his mother when he was a baby. Some people found him and took him to the orphanage. He's... sickly, to say the least, from lack of proper care. And then when he was ten he ran away and Braydon found him," she explained quietly, glancing down at Braydon.

"Oh. Will he be okay?" 

Charity
Charity's eyes drifted slowly down to the ground, and she bit her lip. "I dunno..."

Ahanu
"Oh." Ahanu glanced toward the room Nook was in, then looked at Charity. "Are you still working on the soup?" Or whatever it was you were doing.

Charity
Charity nodded wordlessly. Braydon had gone back to his clay working, so Charity watched the pot from upstairs.

Ahanu
"Are you okay?" Ahanu asked, gently taking her hand. 

Charity
"Mhmm," Charity hummed, exhaling quietly. 

Ahanu
Ahanu didn't comment, following her gaze to Braydon down on the first floor. "So what do you want to do now?"

Charity
"Sleep," Charity mumbled, leaning against the railing and closing her eyes. "But that never ends well for me."

Ahanu
"Do you want to stay here or go somewhere else?" 

Charity

"I'll stay here a bit longer and try to get this place somewhat organized... you can go back if you want to though."

Ahanu
He shook his head. "No, I'll stay with you."
