Only The Strong Survive

Charity
Charity opened her eyes and looked at Ahanu. "Are- are you sure?" She didn't exactly expect Ahanu to stick around with this group of crazed weirdos, but she was grateful for the company if he decided to.

Ahanu
He nodded. "Yeah. Besides, I don't really like walking alone through the woods. I've been doing a lot of that for the past year." 

Charity
Charity smiled. "Thanks." She looked back down at now Jordan and Braydon, who were obviously fussing with each other. Jordan had gotten taller and more muscular since Charity had last seen him, which was more startling than anything to her.

Ahanu
He glanced down at the increased noise, surprised to see yet another person had appeared. Are there any adults here - were there ever? 

Charity
"That's Jordan- Agnus's half brother. Although they're quite convinced they aren't related..." Charity mumbled. "He's also kinda the leader... but he sucks at that too so um... he just is kinda... there."

Ahanu
"Okay." Ahanu shifted his focus from the two boys over to Charity. "Did they go to school with you?"

Charity
"Nope. Actually... I know Jordan and Agnus went to school. Or at least Jordan did until he was sixteen and then dropped out. Agnus did go to my school but dropped out when she hit highschool. As far as I'm conerned, Braydon hasn't really gone to school. He doesn't talk about his past much- the most he says was that he was a loner and a stray, which is probably why he's so close to Nook. Nook doesn't really have any schooling either, although Braydon has tried to teach him as much as he could," she rambled, shrugging at the end. "Long story short- I was out on a walk in the middle of the night, found them all running from who-knows-what, somehow managed to get them out of the situation, and then Braydon voted they let me be a part of their... squad, club, gang... family, I dunno... everyone agreed except Jordan, but he was out-voted."

Ahanu
"What happened to their parents?"

Charity
"Well, Nook's mother abandoned him; nobody knows about his father, nor did they find his mother. Jordan and Agnus grew up in a rich, snobby family. Jordan got sick of seeing so many hurting kids so he decided to start up a... familyish squad. Braydon and Nook were the first ones he 'adopted', and then after Agnus got into a ton of trouble she decided to join. And then Jordan found this abandoned house and called it home." Charity looked at Braydon. "Braydon doesn't talk about his past so nobody really knows about him."

Ahanu
"Are Jordan and Agnus related?" Ahanu looked back down the hallway toward the room where Nook was laying. He felt bad for the kid, but with the current state of things, he doubted he'd be able to find professional medical help (not that he could afford it, though). It sounded like he'd always been sick, and Ahanu guessed money was probably the reason they had been unable to get him help. He sighed quietly and returned his gaze to looking over the rail at Jordan and Braydon below.

Charity
"Half siblings," she muttered.

Ahanu
He nodded understanding. "I didn't know you could cook." The comment was a complete change of topic, but while his etes had been exploring the lower floor he had seen the entry into the kitchen and recalled Charity making soup or something.

Charity
"I don't... at least, not really. I figured out how to make soup because Nook likes it. Apart from that though, I'm pretty clueless in the kitchen," she let out a small laugh about the situation. "I normally burn everything."

Ahanu
He smiled. "I can do some basic cooking, but it tastes average. My sister is amazing in the kitchen, though she usually is too lazy to actually cook anything." Ahanu chuckled a little, thinking back fondly on his sister. It had been a year since he had last talked to her. 

Charity
"Auberon can cook and bake anything, without a recipe or even setting the timer," she said. "I still dunno how he does it."
