Themes?

#178950 Posted on 2018-07-15 09:30:00

Just wondering. Does anyone have themes for their horses with the various backgrounds available???

My theme for my Chincoteague Ponies or my wild Assateague ponies is either those on the Maryland or on the Virginia side of Assateague Island. 😊

The ones with the river represents the various rivers that flow into either Chincoteague Bay or the Alantic Ocean, the ones with the fence represents the fence that separates the Maryland side from the Virginia side of Assateague from each other, and the ones with the forest represents the forests that thrive in the middle of Assateague Island. 😊

How about you?

I have sort of name themes for some of my breeds, but nothing for backgrounds. My arabians are all named after animals, My andalusians after their parents' names, and my gypsies and shetlands parents' names or whatever sounds good lol. And for my chincos, the first letter in the name is their color. Second, their pattern. The third letter is either other patterns or M or S for mare and stallion. Like B-RS-S Is a bay stallion with roan and sabino.

I sometimes base mine off of the names, i.e. Cardinal is in a forest where you might find a cardinal, Amur Leopard has a snowy background like where you might find a snow leopard, things like that. C:

I don't have any bg themes, though it's a very cool idea!
Dragonfly, I adore Cardinal and her bg. You're absolutely right about it seeming like a place where one might spot a cardinal - the bg looks like something that might be on a Christmas card, complete with a little red bird. c:

I try to have a sorta theme, like I try to have most of my Andalusians in Western backgrounds, but I’m not completely at that point yet, haha.  I do have some naming themes though. Sorta. All my Friesians have ‘Midnight’ in front of their name. And I have a Logger line going for my Clyde’s, and I’m trying to start a Lious L’Amour line for my QH’s.

I have a theme for my chincos. I named them after crayola crayons. I plan to do this until I run after names :3

I have numerous naming schemes, but I do actually have two background themes!
I love that you have ideas for all your Chincos! Chincos are one with a theme that incorporates backgrounds for me. The line is called Coastal Drifters and they all have the Sunset Beach background! I just think they look really pretty with it and their western tack, see Malibu.

My TBs all have Winner's Circle Backgrounds as well.

I'd love to get into it more, but I have so many horses it'd be an expensive habit!

Ha I have Sunset Beach Chinco's too also named after beaches across the world but I went with beaches that werent so obvious! They do have a note in their public notes of the country where the beach is. In case anyone cared.

Also not really a theme as such as I do have other Background types for the same breed but I prefer my Driving Freisians to have the Spring Trails background because it looks a bit spooky/sinister but pretty too with the blue flowers.

I like my Buckskins to have Autumn River background as I like how they blend into the landscape and for the same reason I like chestnuts to have the Autumn Paddock background.

I like my Lined SJ DUtchies & Trakes to have winners Circle Backgrounds as they tend to do well in shows.

@Dragonfly - thats a good idea! I have just unlocked a foal whose name is Not Cold & has a snowy trails background because I found it amusing.

My Chinos are all named after candy or sweets, my Gypsies all have presidential names and once I breed my quarters the foals will all be country songs.

My Shetlands are all named after islands in the Ryukyu chain. :)

I might expand to other Japanese islands after I run out, but who knows.
