Auberon
"Okay that works too... except I think the whole point was for me to act like I was still a prisoner. Therefore y'all would be talking about whatever it is you go in trouble for, and I would overhear? Telling them they won't talk is gonna get me in trouble.... again," Auberon said. "I'll just tell them an antelope- never mind that's definitely not important," Auberon said as he sat back down. After staring at the ground for a minute, Auberon looked back up at Aline. "I'm guessing you enjoy reading?"

Parker
"I mean just saying we haven't mentioned anything." Parker shrugged and decided to go way back in his audio files. He was searching for a particular one, though he wasn't sure why he had thought of it all of a sudden.

Aline
She nodded, glancing warily at the door before slipping easily from her chains. She had put them on quite loosely earlier so that she could do that. Once she was free she stretched out her legs in front of her before sitting in a more comfortable position.

Auberon
Auberon gave a small nod then resumed his thinking and ground-staring. "I should've asked them for a weapon..." he mumbled.

Aline
"Don't you have a knife?" Aline asked, brushing back her hair. She should have put it up when she walked her dog, but she hadn't, and it had been getting in her face since she was chained up.

Auberon
"Dagger- and yes, I do," Auberon said, taking out his dagger and spinning the tip on the ground in boredom. "But if I got another weapon, someone in here could take my dagger and then that'd somehow work someway I don't even know anymore," he rambled.

Aline
She shrugged. "I'm sure they'll take you out later to see what you've learned. You could ask then." Aline watched the dagger spin a moment. "What was Texas like?"

Brooklynn
Brooklynn decided she'd go inspect the lock on the door. It was simple enough, nothing that she couldn't pick using a few hair pins- and she had more than enough of those at her disposal.
I'm as much of a prisoner here as I was downstairs..

Auberon
Auberon felt a shiver run down his spine at that question. He wanted so desperately to go back, and talking about it always made it worse.
"Um- I dunno..." Auberon proceeded to spin his dagger again, watching it more curiously than before. "It's nice there, I guess."

Aline
"Did you like living on a ranch? In Brazil I lived on a plantation, which is kind of like a ranch I guess. We had a lot of cacao trees, arabica plants, and some horses and cattle."

Auberon
Auberon let out a stressed, but quiet exhale through his nose and spun the dagger again. "Ya, it was great. It was a lot of work, but worth it."

Aline
She nodded and sank back into thought, thinking about Brazil. She hadn't really made any new friends in the States since moving up here, so she didn't have too many happy memories to revert to other than Brazil ones. She and her parents had gone on a fun road trip to Niagara Falls a couple months ago, which was great, but... Aline sighed softly.

Auberon
"You like baking by any chance?" Auberon was trying his hardest to avoid the question, but it finally crept off of his tongue, which he held grudgingly against himself.

Aline
Aline nodded, smiling. "Yeah, my favorite thing to make is Pão de Queijo. It's like a little roll, I've heard some people call it Brazilian cheese bread since moving up here." Me and Maria used to make those almost every time she came over.

Auberon
"Oh, ya I've attempted to make- I mean," Auberon stopped what he was saying and stared at the ground. "My aunt has attempted to make that... stuff...."

Aline
She giggled. "It's okay to like baking, you know. I had a friend in Brazil, his name was Alejandro, and he loved to bake. He won several competitions. Sometimes we worked together, but he was much better on his own." Aline smiled at the thought of the baking competitions - hosted and run by a large group of kids and completely informal. There was often a lot of laughter during those events.
