I made this!

Monday night, I went into the hospital scheduled to be induced. They started me on medicine to help soften up my cervix. I had contractions ALL night. Tuesday morning my OB-GYN came in to check to see how I was doing. Despite all the contractions, I hadn't progressed any, so they started me on Pitocin and he broke my water. At that point, I progressed VERY quickly. At 3pm, I was ready to start pushing. I pushed for 2 solid hours. She was faced up instead of the preferred face down. At 5:15, my OB started talking about having to do a C-Section. I was NOT happy about this, but baby was starting to stress out. We started prepping for the surgery. At 6pm, I went into the operating room and at 6:19, baby girl was born weighing in at 9lbs! BIG baby- which explains why I couldn’t have a regular delivery.

 

As for me, I’m struggling. There were some complications during my C-Section. I lost A LOT of blood and hemorrhage. In addition, from the 2 hours I spent pushing, I have A LOT of swelling. I’m sore in both areas. It looks like I’ll be here at the hospital until tomorrow night or Friday morning.


I’m thrilled that my little flower was born on the first day of spring 😊.


So here is baby Hayden at just 17 hours old. Gaia’s heart is so full it could burst!

Awe hun I'm sorry things didn't go so well but gosh she's cute. And just think of it this way. She is worth all the pain, all the complications. Soon you won't even remember any of that pain. You'll look upon her sweet face and it will all just melt away! Unfortunately I don't have any advice for after C-section care! But do take it easy!  pads are your best friend! so is ice to help with the swelling and make you comfortable. and again she is SO cute!
