"Ohhh. I see." He gave her a playful grin. "Somebody's impatient," Denver said in a singsong voice. Kahlen punched him lightly in the arm. "Stop it," she said, trying to hide a smile. Denver put an arm around his sister. "You know you love me."

Bobby
He glanced at Eudora one more time and then trotted back to the stables. He glanced around at who was left, but when his gaze landed on Ethel, his heart skipped a beat and he blushed. He quickly swept his gaze past her. Opening his jacket, Bobby peered in a few of the pockets. He wasn't sure exactly what he was looking for... Oh! He pulled a small stone from one of the pockets, turning it carefully in his fingers. The stone reflected the sunlight. It was a deep, dark indigo, with a rainbow of confetti-like colors inside it. He nervously trotted forward and thrust it into Ethel's hands. "It's an opal stone," he said, and then turned and hurried toward the strawberry fields, blushing furiously.

Kahlen 
A blond boy approached them, glancing at her brother with a disapproving look, then turning to Kahlen. "I'm Jared," he said, smiling. "You're Kahlen?"
Kahlen knew already that she wasn't going to like this... Jared. "Why?" she said curtly, folding her arms. Her brother had moved to stand slightly behind her, watching the proceedings. "I heard about what you did earlier today- distracting the chimera. That was really brave." He put his arm around her. "You know, since you're new to camp and all, maybe I could show you around-" Kahlen took a step to the side, cutting him off. "I'm sure there's another girl around here who would be happy to spend their day in your insufferably arrogant, annoying company." Jared's friends laughed in the background as his face turned a bright shade of pink. Kahlen turned and walked away, her brother following her. 

Ethel
 Ethel blushed as Bobby pressed the stone into her hands. Before she could ask him why he was leaving, he was already gone. She sighed, giving the stone a look-over before slipping it into her pocket. She grabbed a hold of Kili's mane and pressed her heels against the mare's sides. Kili cantered forward before spreading her wings, tucking her hind legs under her, and leaping into the sky. Ethel was glad to be riding the pegasus, because the task of staying aboard was a good reason to not think about Bobby. Remember your alliance. It'll help you survive. They were right: only three of us will make it, most likely... and I'm gonna be one of those three, no matter what... I guess, she thought to herself, her thoughts consuming her despite her efforts to focus on riding. Her head was too much of a jumbled mess for her to realize that she was still blushing. When she finally did notice, she silently thanked the gods that she was on an airborne pegasus instead of with the group.

Bobby
His face as red as the fruit around him, Bobby sank to a sitting position among the plants. He pulled out his handmade flute and began to play, calming his nerves and perking up the plants around him. After a short, fast, happy tune, Bobby paused and plucked a vibrant leaf, chewing it thoughtfully. He opened his jacket and peered into the pocket containing his opal stones. That had been his only indigo one, the rest had a base color of the normal milky white. While still beautiful, the blue opal had been one-of-a-kind. Like Ethel. He blushed, despite the fact it was simply a thought and nobody was around. He mentally kicked himself. You're a satyr, Bobby. You can't like a demigod! Bobby picked another strawberry leaf and munched it. The third leaf that he picked he placed in one of his jacket pockets. He lifted his flute from his lap and put it once more to his lips. His fingers delicately jumping from hole to hole, Bobby played a slow, melodic piece. 

Ethel
 Her need to question the satyr got the best of her before long, so she ended up intentionally scanning the ground in hopes of finding him. Her eyes landed on him after a few seconds of looking (her altitude made finding someone rather easy), and she gently guided Kili downward. She was a bit rusty at riding, since she hadn't done so for several years before then, which resulted in her almost running into the poor guy. The appaloosa skidded to a halt, dust clouding around them.

Bobby
He was startled when a pegasus barely flew over his head, kicking up dust and landing on a couple strawberry plants. When it stepped off the plants and into a pathway, Bobby's fingers flew to play a tune that always helped the plants after being squashed, usually by careless campers running through the field. The plants snapped upright, and Bobby tucked the flute away, looking at his hooves a moment before chancing a glance at Ethel. "Beautiful pegasus," he murmured, "though I'd rather not be a pancake." A faint smile tugged the corners of his mouth upward.

Eudora 
Eudora sat quite stunned at what had just happened, but shrugged it off and went into the Mess Hall. Nothing interesting ever happens to her! Or at least yet. She kind of hoped it styed that way, but she also wanted adventure. She walked up to Kahlen. "Hi," she said dumbly.

Kahlen 
"Who does he think he is?" Kahlen hissed. "He's such a-" she was cut off by Eudora, the new girl. She sighed. "Hi." 

Denver
Denver had watched his sister to see what she'd do when the boy obviously tried to flirt with her. Yikes, he thought. I didn't think she was capable of being so... cold. For a moment he thought Kahlen would try not to embarrass the guy- aand then she'd basically swept his feet out from under the poor kid, metaphorically speaking. 
As the new girl approached, Denver smiled at her, putting a hand on Kahlen's shoulder. "Hi! I'm Denver, and you've probably met my sister, Kahlen."

"Who's he?" Eudora asked motioning to the boy that had been talking to her.

"Well, as far as I know, that unfortunate soul over there's Jared. He kind of.... got brutally rejected, is the most straightforward way to put it. Other than that, I don't know." Kahlen snorted derisively. "He's an arrogant, egotistical jerk who thought he could make a move on me and get away with it." Denver winced. Yep, that was pretty accurate.

"Oh, sounds like a lot of boys I've tried killing at like... five of my schools?" Eudora said with a shrug. 

Jade
She asked around, but nobody had seen Alex. With a sigh, she slowly mounted Tod, who nudged her with concern. She rubbed his forehead. "I'm fine, bud." She soared into the sky and landed at the mess hall, dismounting and sending Tod back to the stables. She trudged over to Kahlen. "Alex is missing," she murmured. She wasn't sure why she was telling Kahlen, but it felt like the right thing to do. Kids were gathering for the capture-the-flag game, and Noah ran over with a grin. "Hey, Jade! I hope you're on my team! I'm so excited you guys get to play a game before you leave! Man, this is awesome!" He came right up to her and stood by her side. Jade was deep in thought and didn't notice until he tried to sneak his hand into hers. She jerked her hand back in shock, then slid away from him. "Not right now, Noah," she said. "And please don't grab my hand."
