Katie nodded, so very proud of herself for keeping her composure. "I understand. And I'm so, so proud of you for being strong enough to keep going, and to not hurt yourself. I can't even say the same for myself, but you've done it! And you can continue to be brave, and look after yourself because you're strong, James, you're so strong." She would probably cry, later tonight, or early tomorrow morning when no one could hear her, but that was later. This was now.

"I'll try not to, but I dunno. You might have to remind me, oh, I don't know, every day? That seems reasonable enough." Katie laughed, hugging James back. Blood brother or not, he would always be her brother, and Katie felt like she had a family, for the first in a long time.

He took the paper and looked at it for a little while. Finally, with a sheepish blush, he handed it back. "I can't read," he mumbled.

"Of course, but mental health is so important, James." Katie murmured, and laughed as the Pesanta wriggled between them, wanting to get in on the hug.

Katie beamed. "It's no problem!" Katie laughed a little at James choice of topic change. "Yeah, fire wouldn't exactly be my first choice."

Haunt circled the river.

He sat up, taking his hands off the grass behind him, and looked up at Kahlen expectantly. Denver was much more knowledgeable in medical things, and Bobby wanted to help the injured demigods.

He nodded. "I already put eyedrops in her eyes, but I didn't know about the cold compress. I'll try that. The eyedrops seemed to irritate it more, though..." He trailed off and listened for instructions on Jade.
