[ADDED] *Foals

Instead of getting a full gown horse right after its birth I would love to see a actual foal and have it grow as it ages, maybe even interactions like training (idk) so there is still stuff to do with it. :D

This has already been suggested many times, often with negative feedback. Let me just copy and paste what I said on another suggestion like this:

"It's not at all simple, easy, or practical. Abbey has to pay money to buy breed art, and not only that, but the artist would have to color a lot of different colors/patterns, plus make a different foal lineart/base for every breed if it were to be realistic. That's a lot of money that could be better spent on entirely new breeds, new items, or new features.
Plus, this has been suggested and shot down several times before.
In a perfect world, this would be a good suggestion, but no support, sorry."

So sorry, but I don't support this...

Just FYI:Abbey has repeatedly said to not use "cost of art" and "money" to justify voting against something.

I understand that she has the money, but in my opinion, it could be better spent. in my opinion

I could see this maybe happening in the future, but I think focusing on making EV run more smoothly and efficiently right now is better than getting foal art, just my opinion..

I, too, would prefer to get crossbreeds before we get foal art. But I also want foal art eventually, so voting against it just because i want something else more right now is taking resources/money into account.

In cases like this I just don't vote :)

I wonder how much the opinion would change on this and people would finally listen to the financing argument if I just came out and said: I would really love to have foal art in the future.

So much so that there was a hint about it in the very first news post of the recode about it.

Look very closely at that list of features coming soon.

I decided not to add foal art, and kept quiet, based on the overwhelming negative response to the suggestion being made.

I would love foal art! I have never understood why players have been so against it.

@Dratini Same here. People are so quick to shut the idea down, but it makes me glad that Abby wants it as well. Foal art would be an adorable addition to the site.

I could care less either way about whether there is foal art for foals, the only thing is, I wouldn't really want a baby foal representing my two year old horse. Having a foal as a large horse just makes me think, 'okay, this is what the horse will be like most of it's life, it's not like a game should have to put the money in to show every lifespan', while seeing a foal as a two year old just makes me want to replace it with either a yearling art or an adult horse art, as they are both much closer to what the horse would look like.

i don't see why members disagree with it either. it doesn't hurt you, and adds even more realism to the game, and now that abbey has said not to use money as a reason to say no, i don't really get what the problem is; i'd actually expect members to jump all over the idea.

i think it'd be really exciting to see foal art. and as far as what silverwolves has mentioned, why not just go from foal art to regular adult art at 2 years? maybe the art can even be a little bit in between looking like a newborn foal to sort-of having a yearling look to it.

I posted this on the mare/stallion art topic, but I'll post it here as well since it's extremely relevant:

Foal art would not be as intense as everyone thinks with the way my artist and I have it planned out. Since foals aren't overly distinguishable until they reach an older age, we've grouped together some of the breeds which would get the same foal artwork (perhaps some would have the art flipped to represent some difference).

Here are the groupings that we made:

- Arabian + Welsh Pony
- Friesian
- Shetland Pony + Miniature Horse
- Akhal-teke +Trakehner + Dutch wb + Morgan + Thoroughbred + TWH
- Andalusian + Lipizzaner
- Appaloosa + Mustang + Quarterhorse + Paint horse
- Chinco
- Clydesdale + Gypsy Vanner

That grouping plan makes a lot of sense, and so I now support this. However, I feel like Tekes should be with the Arabs and Welshes, but that's just me.
