[ADDED] *Foal art

Woah thanks everyone for the input......*pulls hair over face in creepy cackle* I will join your cackling......I agree with arty on this. On money wise it is literally impossible for EVERY breed to have a certain foal art but maybe a generic or for types like I said above .....

And if it is an issue to let everyone have it, then maybe you can pay EVC to get it added to your account (another game I used to play had something similar). I love it! I find it strange that my 0 year old foal looks just like my 8 year old mare.

There are an awful lot of suggestions on this board that appear to be lifted directly from another horse SIM (one that was absolutely ruined by making it "more realistic"). I apologize if that is not the case with this specific suggestion (but it does exist in another game that's been around for quite some time; I understand the suggestion here could merely be coincidental).

That said, I do not support this idea. Too expensive and I'd rather the current adult horse art be completed (since some breeds are missing bits and pieces).

Personally, I would like to see more variety in markings instead of foal art. Like at least three different Tobiano markings.

I mean, it sounds awesome in theory. But I think it's unnecessary, and time could be spent doing much better things.

It sounds like a good idea, But who would create the images?

I really like this idea, and I know that it gets a whole lot of crap due to "money" and "work" but in all honesty guys SO many other online games have foal art, even some that aren't that popular! And I get that it takes a lot of money to keep a game going, but consider how many people are joining this game! And even if they don't buy Deluxe, many current members have it and are renewing it pretty often. I mean, nothing has to happen in the next few weeks, but it would be nice to have one day :P

I love the idea of having little fluffy foals, but it doesn't really add anything to the game and would be expensive to get all the art done.

Okay, let me start this with I love this idea!

I would love to see foal art... Not only because it would be cute, but also stop me from looking at a foal and thinking it's an adult and wondering why I can't show said horse because it's a foal. I am sure I'm not the only one that has been through this, because I have done it with EVERY foal I have or had (It could also be because I don't look at their age half the time too. XD).

Now the thing that ticks me off on here and no one seems to get. Is we do not decide if it's too expensive or not. It is the owner of the games choice completely if they think it's worth the money or not. Not ours. So, for everyone that disagrees with this idea because of money are disagreeing for the wrong reasons. Not that I am aiming this at anyone, it's just that everyone's disagrees all because of money that isn't our issue. I completely agree with Steele Creek Stables, it's a great idea and it doesn't have to happen now, but could happen later on in the game as it grows.

Plus, as Steele says, there are new members joining all the time, and Deluxe Membership being bought by plenty of members. And even now, the game may not have money. But what about the future? Is everyone going to believe this game will never get money? Because the way everyone says it's too much money now is kind of pointing in that direction. All these suggestions everyone makes, just because we don't have money now, doesn't mean the game never will. Heck, in the future, all the ideas knocked down for money could actually happen in the future.

So, after all that. I believe this idea is great. And sure, we can work on the adult pictures for now, or save the art for later after more updates and the game is working better. But just maybe, in the future we could have foal art too. Because I'm sure lot's of people would love it! So, if you love or even like the idea of foal art, support it, because this idea doesn't have to happen right away, but can be stored away for future makings. :D

No one's trying to tell Abbey what to spend the game's money on. I'm just sharing my opinion that the money could be better spent elsewhere. This is my opinion, and I am not expecting Abbey to agree with me on every single one of my points. This is a suggestion forum where all of us can share what we think, and I am doing just that. I do not claim to be worthy of dictating to Abbey how she can spend her money. But sharing opinions lets her know what the members of the game might like to see in the future. Of course Abbey may do what she likes with her game, but it is wise to listen to what the community wants because that will lead to more people spending time and money on the game. So money is, in fact, quite relevant to the discussion.

Personally, I'd much rather have time and money spent on new features rather than foal pictures that really don't serve much of a purpose. (It's not that hard to check the age of a horse! It literally takes seconds.) Most games of this type do not make much money, so no, I don't think even in the future it's going to draw a huge income. Deluxe memberships bring in $20 a year per member who buys them. That is a very small amount of money. We have the features we have thanks to Abbey's generosity, not because this site makes any kind of a profit. (If it does, please correct me! I would be glad to know that it does. I just know that sim games of any sort struggle for money.) If in the very distant future when we have multiple programmers and artists and money is no object, then sure, add in some foal art. But I still choose not to support this suggestion because it's not something I'm dying to have added.

I know that some games do have foal art, but most don't, and if they do, it's usually generic and not unique to each breed. I would prefer not to have any foal art at all than have generic foals. Of course, that increases the expense enormously, and would make it much more difficult to add any new breeds in the future. I don't really think we need any more breeds at the moment, but I'd like to keep the option open.

If you believe this feature is not a good one for the current time, then why not wait to suggest it until that time? You can say that it's so you won't forget about it, but you could write it down somewhere else (Google Docs is great for that), and it will likely be buried by other, more feasible suggestions anyway. Yes, it would be very cute to have foal art, but I don't see it being feasible for, at the least, years, at the current rate of the site's growth.

I agree with Andromeda, it would be better to add more variations of Tobiano, Sabino etc than to add pointless foal art.

I never said the game would be rich, just that the game would bring in more money in the future, and would have enough to spare to add other features to this game as it grows. When you say foal art is useless... Well having more tobiano's and other markings is pretty much the same. So I guess, it depends on the person if they rather foal art or markings, but they both do not really better the game more then the other. But well just add new features and other traits to the game. So it is a person's opinions on what they would rather added. No argument there.

But again, money still isn't the issue or really relevant to the discussion. In all honesty, you could just say...

"No, I rather more horse marking art then foal art."

or

"I think the game should work on adding more features to Deluxe then making more horse art."

There is no need for money to be discussed at all, no mention of it was needed in the two top examples to explain why I disagree or support a suggestion. Because really, this game WILL make money, enough money to add features to this game. That is the reason that suggestions are allowed, so Abbey can find out what people want. So, when you support or not support a suggestion, money should not be our problem. But whether if we like the suggestion made or not and if we want it added. If you rather horse markings, then say that. But no need to say whether the game has money or not to spend on a suggestion as Abbey will decide if the game has it or not.

I really am not trying to be rude (Hopefully), but I believe that a suggestion such as this and any others that are suggested in the future shouldn't be knocked down or overlooked because people decide they don't like what's suggested because of money. I believe this, and some may believe otherwise, but I have seen many ideas not checked into because there is a ton of non support because of people worrying about how the money should be spent. And I don't want it to happen to this idea too. :)

Adding foal art would likely cost a lot more money than adding a few new markings. Money is a limited resource, so yes, these suggestions do involve money. Some suggestions will take a lot more money than others (art-intensive ones will take a lot more). So it's only right that we can give our opinion on how the limited resources will be spent. I'm not claiming any right to judge a final decision on money spending, but the issue should be discussed on any suggestion that will take a lot of it.
