Not so popular breeds that were on the old recode were not very popular because they weren't very popular in RL either. I think that it would end up happening again if we aren't careful. Look at how many horses just sat in the RC in the old recode. In my opinion, it was to many.

You can say exactly the same thing about Percherons and Shire horses, neither are that popular in RL or across other sim games but are commonly known draft breeds. Adding rarer, lesser-known breeds may give them a boost in popularity in the draft community.

Where I am from they are popular. There is a chance of a rare breed becoming popular, at first, but there is a good chance that they will decline in popularity and become very unwanted. We may end up with a RC swamped with horses like before.

Considering we already had a problem in the past with Shire horses and Percherons being unwanted and unpopular. I would see it being more likely that a common draft breed will decline in popularity as it did on the old EV (or if it was ever popular on the old EV- I only saw Clydes being successful) again over a newer more colourful draft breed such as a Noriker.

There are more colors for the Shire Horses. The ones on the old recode are not the only colors available for Shire Horses. If more colors were added than it wouldn't be a problem.

Oh, you weren't rude :)

But I agree with Maple. Rarer breeds are more unique, and therefor, may attract more players.
(this is a side note, and these aren't even draft horses, but on the subject of less-common breeds, I've always dreamed of the day Criollos were added)

I am almost positive lack of colors PLUS being not so popular in the real world is why the breeds were not so popular here. Shires have the exact same colors as Clydes (+ gray) but black is more common than bay as it is the more desired color. Clydes are sitting 17th of 20 breeds. I suspect at first Shires would be popular for being new, then fade to the bottom as people get bored with the lack of variety. This is probably why Lippies and Friesians are also at the bottom of the list as well.

Registered Shire horse Stallions come in Black, Brown, Bay or Grey, without large splashes of white. Only registered mares be roan. - these are the same colours the Shire horses had on the old EV, minus brown, roan and white splashes. If you wanted to add the Shire horse again, the only colour you would be adding is brown and minimal white belly markings.

I don't recall shires having roan on the old site. I think it would be impossible to include roan for mares only. In real males would be born with it and exist but not registered. Here if they are born they are in the game.

I stand corrected. For some reason I had it in my head only the Belgians had the roan but I have copies of the infos for all my old horses before the switch and I did have a red roan shire. It's been a while since I had all those horses now.

Here's a lovely draft breed I would LOVE to see! It's a pony, too, but they'd be cute and pretty at the same time! :D

I would definitely agree with Ardennais or Norikers, if we need a draft breed added. Also agreeing with Maple, that while more known breeds are more popular because they're known, there's little point in adding in breeds that don't have a ton of variety color-wise because they're just not as aesthetically pleasing for most.

I love both the Ardennais and Norikers choices. The Norikers have great color choices, and lack the grey gene, which would be great, and Ardennais have the cutest shape ever, and have the roan gene, which is a plus.

I also like Fjord horses, which come in the colors , from what I can gather (what I believe are the translated terms to our site, could be very off) classic dun, grullo, red dun (looks different than ours), dunskin? (and possible dunalino??? idk), or as the site calls them bay dun, red dun, grey dun, also called grullo, white dun, horse with a genetically based brown dun with a cream alle, and yellow dun, red dun with two cream alles.
