I would love Sugarbush draft horses to be added but I know they won't be.

I see Dratini's point. Yes they were culled for a reason but you do have to realize how many different breeds had the same art. Just because they weren't as popular doesn't mean they wont be now if added. Look at all the love they would get just by looking at this thread. The old EV had tons of unnecessary breeds that were abandoned but if we just had one more heavy horse breed i think people would enjoy the wider variety instead of just having light horses, ex- QH, Appy, Andy, etc.

^ this breed art is an example of Abbey using them for multiple light breeds. I remember there being two or three different breeds on the same art, which was very confusing and weird for me.

EDIT: also rereading Dratini's comment i do like the idea of adding a new breed each year, but yes it may become crowded. BUT if we did do this we could take a vote at the end of each year to cull a breed and make room for a new one. Id like to see this implemented because then we could have lots variety to attract new players and make the game more interesting and fun for the older ones. This also means more breed experimentation, so a breeder that breeds something now could solely breed a new lovely and fall in love if they choose! you never know until you try

I too feel that the EV community isn't large enough yet to support more breeds. The less popular breeds already tend to have a very slow horse market.

While I like the idea of eventually adding in more breeds, I just have a feeling EV needs more time to grow before that. This is why I'm not voting yes or no, because sometime in the very distant future I'd love more breeds but right now I feel the game just can't support more breeds.

I think when I do decide to add more breeds, the first breed I add will be a heavy horse as they are a bit under-represented. It will most likely be the Shire (as I am slightly biased, being from the UK ^^) but I'm in agreement with a few people here - it's too soon to introduce any new breeds for the time being.

I do plan on adding more breeds, but it will be when the current breeds have plenty of members dedicated to breeding them.

oh yeah
Gypsies exist
whoopsies.
ok so there's currently 2 draft breeds, not one.
but still.

And I just wanna point out that even though certain breeds were culled for a reason, look at Chincos. Gypsies. DWBs. Those and several other breeds took off since the recode, so just because Shires and such weren't popular then doesn't mean they won't be.

Gypsies arent a draft breed. Gypsy vanners are simply a heavy weight riding cob, Gypsy drum horses on the other hand are. Im not saying they wont, im saying i know many people who want more breeds and in particular they would like more heavy breeds. Shires would honestly be a great addition and id give them a try

Whilst I'm a massive fan of draft horses myself... I also like having colours. I think one of the main reasons the heavier breeds wasn't so popular in the past was simply lack of colours for the most part. As far as I remember, shire horses and percherons only came in bay, black and grey (and chestnut for percherons). If you were to add them again to EV with their realistic colours, you'd only have grey and black for percherons, black, bay and grey for Shire horses.

Personally I'd like to see a breed that hasn't been on EV before rather than bringing back a retired breed that wasn't so popular. I think it would spark a lot more interest and keenness to breed for them. Breeds such as the Ardennais Horse (bay, chestnut, roan, grey, palomino), Noriker horse (bay, black, chestnut, flaxen(?), roans, leopard complex), Dole (bay, brown, black, chestnut, grey, dun, palomino) and North Swedish Horse (any solid color). The only 'issues' I can see with some of these is what is accepted in the registries, for example the Ardennais is very rarely Black however this is a colour not accepted in the breed registry.

If we were to bring a retired draft breed back however, I'd like to see Belgian Drafts or the Fjord pony in it's proper colour variations. c:

Thank you for the feed back! I do love those suggested breeds but im not quite sure if Abbey would like to introduce ones not everyone knows about, i for one had no idea about those. From what im getting from other posts she wants to add more but n the future, and when she does id like to see more popular breeds such as the Rocky Mountain, etc.

I personally know people and i myself didnt care for the Fjords but if they were to come back id like to see them. Only concern i have with them would be lack of popularity.

Okay, okay. Gypsies aren't drafts. Got it. But my point still stands. Only one or two, doesn't matter. If I have to say "only", that means that there isn't really enough lol

Ardennais horses would actually be really cool, Maple! Good idea!

Thing is, the breeds you listed above, maple, are not very popular breeds. I think that the whole problem with the lack of interest of breeds before here on EV was that some breeds were not seen as often or, like said before, had a lack of colors. Some horse breeds people may not even know about. I think that if we were to add breeds it should be more popular ones in RL. That way more people would be interested in them. I think that adding more horses to the game would defiantly bring more players. We honestly don't have that many right now, and it would really add to the game and as being realistic.

Again, I can only stress the point of a new breed being introduced as more 'exciting' than bringing a retired breed back, especially if it's not as common in other horse sim games and has more colours. There's always the educational factor as well, you didn't know those draught breeds existed, now you do. c;

Oh I see. Thats a very good point and thinking of it now would make sense to introduce something a little more, unique. Those breeds were lovely and if Abbey ever decides to introduce more in a year or so id love to see her have a poll for the new one to introduce.
