Landon

Landon leaned against the wall of the bathroom, contemplating on actually going to the lunchroom. He knew that Luna would be there, or so he assumed. I might as well go. I have questions and she probably does too. He pushed the door open and walked into the lunchroom. He made his way to the table where Luna sat at and sat directly across from her same as yesterday.

Luna

Luna looked down when she saw Landon approaching. Talking quietly, she said "So... do you want to explain first or should I?"

Landon

Landon looked at Luna who wasn't exactly looking at him. "That's up to you," he said slowly.

Luna

"I'll explain first, I guess... My parents found this stone. It was like a sapphire, but it was red. They picked it up, and they were immortal. All my relatives died just after I was born, except for my Grandma. She always said that I was born immortal too. When I was just six years old, I picked up the red stone, and it dissolved at went into my eyes, turning them purple. Since then, I have had the power to do things with my mind, such as move things, teleport, etc. You better not tell anyone. Now, how did you get the reading-minds ability?

Nani

Nani twirled the pencil in her hand. She had been catching up on some homework during her lunch period. But after deciding that she was bored, she slammed the cover of her book and laid her head on the table, hands folded in her lap. She yawned as she rolled her shoulders. She had another night shift to look forward to just like last night. Nani finally sat up, so as to not look like a freak. She folded her arms on the table and glanced around the room before spotting a familiar face. It was the boy that nearly killed her a few days ago. She chuckled as she gathered her books and bag. She left the lunch room and made her way to her locker and shoved her things inside. She took a look at herself in the mirror that hung on her locker door. "Oh good god." She laughed. "I look like hell." She pulled up her hair and braided it into a bun. "And that's as good as it's gonna get. These night shifts are catching up with ya, aren't they Nani?"She grabbed her books, slammed the locker door, and headed off towards her next class.

Landon

Landon nodded and sighed when it was his turn to tell his story. It was a long story and one he didn't enjoy delving into. "Well, when I was three, my father became a scientist under the federal government for the military. He experimented with things that I have no clue about. It all got to his head one day and he started experimenting on me, trying to find something. I was basically his lab rat. Well, one of those experiments he did gave me the ability to read minds. Not that I can actually control who's mind read and I don't know how to turn it off. Anyways after my mom found out that my dad experimented on me, she divorced him and we got as far away from his as we could. I think he was fired from his job and put into a psychiatric hospital, but I never bothered to ask." Landon huffed after finishing his story. "I won't tell anyone about if you do the same. I've kept it hidden for so long and I would like to keep it that way."

Luna nodded. She wouldn't tell. The rest of the day was a blur. When she got home, she felt bad. She had lied to Landon. There was no such magical stone. She didn't get her powers like that. But she couldn't tell anyone who she was. She sighed, and went to sleep.

Landon

Landon sighed when he fell back on his bed. School didn't matter so much to him today, not that it truly ever did. Instead, he laid on his bed thinking about Luna. He had come clean to her, not something he usually did. But then again, he had never met someone with powers like him before. A knock sounded from his bedroom door before it slowly slid open. "Hey sweetie," he heard his mom say. Landon sat up and put a fake smile on his face. "Hey mom," he replied as he scooted over for her to sit down. "Listen, I know you have school tomorrow, but I need you to watch the bakery. I'm leaving to a convention up north for a day or two," she said and patted Landon's knee. Landon nodded and smiled. He enjoyed helping his mom out, especially when it involved missing school. His mom left and Landon laid back down, soon falling asleep.

Luna

Luna woke up early, as usual, and her grandma had made pancakes for breakfast. Luna's grandma had powers, as well, but Grandma was way more powerful than her. She had used them to make these delicious pancakes. The school day dragged along, and she didn't see Landon. When she got home, she asked her grandma why he wasn't at school. Grandma closed her eyes, and concentrated. "I see Landon in a bakery. His mom is at a convention..." She opened her eyes again. "I think he'll be back at school tomorrow, or in a few days." "Thanks, grandma" Luna said before doing her normal bedtime routine. Luna fell asleep and dreamed about climbing so high, she reached the moon.

Landon

Landon turned the sign over to 'CLOSED' in the bakery window. It was a long and very painfully slow day. At one point he wished that he had gone to school. His mom had texted him earlier in the day saying that she would be home later tonight. Landon made his way upstairs for a quick shower before going to bed.

Luna

Luna woke up, finding her grandmother had made pancakes yet again. She went to her locker, and found a sign reading Winter Formal. "NO WAY!" Then she realized she had yelled and other students were staring. Not ANOTHER one of these, she thought. WHY ARE THERE SO MANY. I'm not going, who would even ask me.

Landon

Landon woke up with a massive headache of people's thoughts rushing through his head. "Great, it's one of those days," he grumbled. He reached for his headphones and threw on some random clothes from his drawers. He had to admit that he looked like a complete mess. When he arrived at school, he headed to his locker finding not one but three papers all saying the same thing. Winter Formal. He balled the papers up and made his way over to where Luna was. "Hey Luna," he said as he shoved the headphones off of his ears. It was a mistake, and one he deeply regretted. "Crap oww," he said rather loudly. Don't these people know how to shut up. I seriously need to find out how to control this.

Luna

Luna looked at Landon, and started snickering. Although she felt bad for him, it was pretty funny to hear him yell, and she couldn't help it. "Well, these signs are sure annoying" she said.

Landon

Landon rolled his eyes when Luna snickered. "Like you know what it feels like to hear everyone's thoughts without controlling them," he mumbled. He turned his attention to the sign she was referring to and sighed. "Yeah, I had three of them littering my locker. Who goes to them anyway?"

Luna

"Hmm... Maybe the kids who aren't irritated by all these signs?" Luna laughed, then headed to History class.
