Luna

"L-Luna. My name's Luna." Said Luna, shyly. "What's your name?" I'm bringing my own lunch tomorrow, this is gross! She thought while waiting for his answer.

Landon

Landon smirked when he accidently heard what Luna was thinking. Glad I'm not the only one who thinks school food is the worst. "Nice to meet you, Luna, I'm Landon by the way," he said with a warm smile. He felt a tiny bit awkward with the small talk, something he generally doesn't dabble in often, especially not with people he has never seen or talked to before.

Luna looked at him with her deep purple eyes. She was slightly confused when he smirked, was relieved when he smiled, then suddenly felt funny. She awkwardly looked down at her food and took her last bite, thinking, I can feel the imbalance. Does he have powers? Am I not the only one? Oh, well, it doesn't matter as long as I fit in. Wait a minute, I have purple eyes! Well, I will be FINE. "So, what class are you going to next?" she asked Landon.

Landon

Landon suddenly felt nauseated from the thoughts rushing in his head from Luna all at once. His face paled for a quick second and his head felt dizzy before returning back to normal. He didn't catch much, but in there somewhere was the word 'powers'. It can only be a coincidence. It has to be rare for there to be someone with powers located in the same place. He brushed it off just in time to catch Luna's question. "Ah, uh, I believe I am going to Chem next," he said casually though his mind still raced with the idea of someone else here having powers like him.

Luna

"Hey, me too! Are you okay? You turned pale for a moment there..." I'm keeping an eye on him, he looks suspicious, and I can definitely sense an imbalance! What if he has powers too, like me? He might be a good friend then! I have to ask him! We'll have something in common, and I won't feel so alone!

Landon

Landon smiled when Luna said she also had Chem as her next class. His smile started to fade when she asked if he was okay. Great, she noticed. Way to go, you could most certainly blow your cover in a matter of minutes. "Uh, yeah I'm fine, just a minor headache is all," he said casually and allowed the smile to return to his face. He took another gulp of his water before getting up to throw away the rest of his trash, keeping the water for later.

Luna

Luna threw away her trash as well and started to follow Landon to chem class. She decided not to ask Landon, yet, but she would ask her grandmother what to do.

Landon

Landon grabbed his bag before leaving the lunchroom and heading down the hall. He noticed that Luna was following behind him. He stopped at his locker, throwing any extra books in and grabbing for his Chemistry textbook. He started to put his headphone over his ears but didn't want to be rude to Luna so he left them off while he continued on his way to class. He sat in the back towards the middle of the room as he usually did in every class.

Luna

Luna had already grabbed her chemistry book and put away her others before lunch, so she waited for Landon. She chose the seat to the left of him, then waited for class to start.

Landon

Landon glanced at Luna for a moment before opening his Chemistry book to a page somewhere near the beginning of the book. Like history, science wasn't a favorite for him. He would much rather be in English class reading novels and writing papers.

Luna

Luna acted like she was paying attention, but her mind wasn't on the lesson. I already know this stuff, why are they teaching this? She thought. She was glad when chem was over, since she was bored. Next, she had a singing performance and had to leave school early. All the teachers already knew, so they wouldn't wonder. She walked over to Landon to say good-bye. "I have a singing performance, so I have to leave early." Then Luna walked out the door, and hid behind a tree. After making sure no one was looking, she used her powers to teleport.

Landon

Landon waved Luna goodbye, "Alright, I guess I will see you tomorrow then." He had three more class to attend and then had to start work at four at his mom's bakery shop. His whole last class dragged on forever after the first two flew by. Assuming because he was watching the clock the entire time. When the last bell rang for the day, Landon gathered his things before riding his bike to the small bakery off to the side of the little street. What was so great about the place was that they lived in the small two bedroom apartment upstairs. After throwing his books and bag aside in his bedroom, Landon hopped down the steps and began to serve the customers, relieving his mom for the remainder of the evening.

Luna arrived home, tired from her performance and with plenty of homework to do. She took a shower, then got started on her homework. Ugh. Why does homework even exist? Oh, well. After thirty minutes, Luna was done. She walked into the T.V. room where her grandma was flipping through channels. "Grandmother?" "Yes, Luna?" "Okay, so there's this boy at school and-" "Boy at school? You don't have a crush, do you?" Grandmother said with a smile. "What? Heh... Noooooooo, I-. No, grandma, I was just wondering..." and Luna told her about Landon and the imbalance she had felt. "Well, he must have powers, otherwise there's no explanation to what you felt." "Well, should I ask him if he has powers, then? What do I do, grandma?" "Calm down, child" said Luna's grandmother. "If he has powers, you might want to find out more first. You're smart. Keep an eye on him." "Okay, grandma," Luna said, giving her a hug. "Good night!" Then Luna went to sleep.

Landon

Landon yawned as he flipped the sign to 'CLOSED' on the bakery door. He was tired, but he already had a pile of homework. His mom was sitting on the couch half awake and he mumbled, "Goodnight mom." She gave a low groan in response before he continued to his room and pulled out the homework. When everything was finished, he pulled out All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr and began to read it. Half past ten and he passed out with the book still in hand.
