Arabian specialty.

#74695 Posted on 2016-11-06 13:13:12

Hi, I just got some foundation arabians on this account but can not decide what specialty I want to go under. Two specialties I will NOT be doing are western and driving. Other than that I'm not sure. It's between racing, show jumping, or possibly even dressage. Any suggestions?

I train all my arabians in racing. It seems like racing is the most common discipline for Arabs :)

Overall in-game racing (according to the game statistics) appears to be the discipline with the fewest horses in it, so if you want something with less competition that might be a good way. Conversely, if you want something with more breeding stock/options for studs, you might want dressage because it is overall pretty popular.

For arabians I believe that racing is the most popular option; which means that it would be easier to find studs and sell foals if you were to choose racing.

Irl Arabians are usually used in dressage. I have an Arabian mare named Belle in real life. I have done some research on Arabians and they mostly do dressage. :)

Racing is the most popular, but I personally think more people should do dressage. That's what I have all mine in and more variety is always better ;)

I also suggest dressage. My Arabians also all do dressage so any more breeding stock that might become available from someone else doing dressage is always a plus :)

ENDURANCE!
Actually Endurance used to be the most popular Arabian Discipline, though sadly a lot of the great breeders have not come back to the game or have their ponies locked up so Racing has probably overcome Endurance stats wise.
However popular disciplines for all Arabians include Endurance Racing and Dressage with a small spattering of Show Jumping mixed in, so you're pretty well set if you go with any of those disciplines. I'd go for racing if you want a lot of fellow breeders with well established stock, or dressage if you want a lot of company as well, but if you want to make a name for yourself in a discipline I'd go for Show Jumping as it's the least popular for Arabians!

Thank you for the suggestions. I'm either going to go into racing or dressage.

@ Star Shine Stables: I actually have a lease on an arabian hunter/jumper! The whole barn I'm now riding at is pretty full of arabians competing in hunter/jumper. I also know some who compete in western and I know arabian racing is a big thing.

Just thought I'd update you and say I went into both dressage and racing, depending on the horses stats. Thanks for the help
