"Then where did you come from? How old are you, exactly? Valiente, the new head knight, was appointed that status two years ago. He was four then, six now."


Cerberus:

"Best? You're kidding, right?" he snapped, rearing up and stamping both front hooves down on the ground.
"You will be locked in a special cell together right outside my room. There is no windows, just thick, solid concrete. The door has twelve padlocks. You will be chained, even though there's no way to escape, and you won't be fed or watered. You'll probably die in a few days." he said, shackling the two horses and dragging them after him.

Burden

" i come from a long line of head knights, my father was Aluthier, you may have heard of hi, my mother... well i don't have much memory of her. my father told me she was a beautiful grey mare. Somehow i inherited a horn... no one knows why. i didnt know i possessed magic until i was 3. i dont use it much but it can come in hady. i can tell you more when we get to the castle" he said as he waited for a way into the castle" so how do we get in anyways?"

Atrev:

"I've heard of Aluthier, but he was head knight before I was born. Oh, and I can get us in." he said, limping forward to the guards.
"Atrevido?" one of them stuttered, shocked. "What happened to you? Where were you? We were about to send search parties!"
"Yeah, yeah, don't do that. My three spies are dead, Nora is still imprisoned, and I passed out twice. Oh, and meet Burden. Ever heard of him?" Atrev asked.
"No..." the guard said, staring with discomfort at Burden. "He's a horned one. A reject." he snarled.
"No, no!" Atrev gulped, jumping in front of Burden. "He's okay, I promise."
"I don't know if I can let you in if you're with him." the horse growled, narrowing his eyes at Burden.
Then, another guard piped in. "Um, Atrev, it looks like you have a... prisoner's brand." he said sadly.
"What? Really? I'm done with Cerberus. Come on, Burden. Let us in, please, guard." he said flatly to the guard.


Cerberus:

*chains the knights and locks them in the cell to die*

Burden

" i think you want to let us in" he said in a low voice... he starred directly into the guards eyes almost putting them in a trans. " ah yes right this way" the guard said opening the gate without any hesitation. " there we can go now, glad this is all cleared up" he said passing through the entrance.

Nora

Nora paced in her room. I was spacious. ver much so. She began to examine the drapped bed, so elegant only one that would fit a queen.

Atrev:

"Is there any respect for the head knight's mate's brother?" he mumbled dejectedly, limping after Burden.


Cerberus:

Cerberus entered Nora's room.
"Comfortable yet? There are plenty of books to read, if you're interested. History of this kingdom, stuff like that. Goes back nearly a thousand years, when the kingdoms were very different. Less homey. Anyway, enjoy your stay. You'll want to." he snorted, walking out of the door and locking it back.

Nora

Nora nodded " yes indeed... i love books" she said trying to give a smile. She watched him walk out as she began studying the books. She spotted one on the rack it was named " rise of the rebellion" she picked it up from the shelf as she opened its worn pages.

Burden

"apparently they haven't much respect for anyone. " he said bluntly as he walked through the mane entrance of the castle. " I know Syrs has taken the thrown now... i was head knight when his father was ruling, he will remember me im sure. i was around when he was a yearling" he said looking at the stud.

Atrev:

"Interesting. Tell me more?" he asked.

Burden

" you really want to know my story?" he said " its pretty long

Atrev:

"Yes, please!"

Burden( just going to completely erase the backstory i originally had for him)

"When i was born... i was born with this horn. i was rejected by all. even though my father was head knight... it didn't matter. To be horned was a curse." he said blankly " but Cobalt, Syrus's father saw for some reason something great in me. He treated me like family... from the day i was born. When i was 2 the invaders started coming, in the little village that i lived in. They would steal foals and in-prison them. The king tried to stop them many times. When Syrus was born i was 3. My father had since passed in battle. I began to train and took up the position of head knight. And boy did i live up to his legacy. When my father died and my mother had fled when i was a baby... so i had no one to lean on. Cobalt took me in. i was captured on my expedition to the south. I was to face king of the south. For some reason my knights spread the word that i had been killed... when really i was captured and held hostage for 2 years. I only served 3 years as a knight. I have yet to release my true identity"

Atrev:

"Interesting... maybe that's why Syrus chose Valiente. Different horns, but still horns. And bay. No one to look up to. Very similar to you." Atrev mused quietly.

Burden

Burden nodded " could be " he said shrugging." Were is Syrus anyways?"

Atrev:

"No clue."

Burden

Burden turned his attention as he watched syrus trot over to them.

Syrus

Syrus caught sight of a familiar face. Burden? he though to himself as he sped into a trot " Burden!" he yelled as he raced to them. " where have you been brother!?" he said rapping him in a manly hug.

Atrev:

"Ehe... yeah, I won't interrupt. I just need medical attention." he said, slightly appalled at the fact that Syrus hadn't even acknowledged him.
