Markings Breeding Question

#67363 Posted on 2016-09-14 20:05:19

Hi guys! I'm new around here, and am really interested in genetics and colors in game and IRL. So...I've been reading up on this game's system for the genes and have stumbled across a question I can't find the answer to in the boards.

Is there a genetic basis for the face and leg markings in this game? Or is it related to the parents, but not encoded in the genes?

I've searched the boards and it looks like whatever system there is it's a little on the fritz with a bug at the moment, but can anyone tell me what it used to be/what it is supposed to be like? I really want to breed for specific leg markings but am a little unsure how to do it in this game.

The formula for face and leg markings is somewhat based on the parents, with a dose of randomness thrown in.

Plus, there is a bug in the script at the moment, so facial/leg markings being passed down from the parents is not happening. We're talking about very loudly expressed parents have foals with no markings whatsoever.

Alright thanks guys!
I had seen the bug thread but didn't know if it had been resolved or not...Guess not! I'll just have to work on stats and conformation for awhile :)
