Trakes vs. DWB

#59317 Posted on 2016-08-06 17:51:32

Looking to maybe add a new easy breed.
Trakes vs DWB. Or Both.

Which one needs more dedicated breeders?
New Blood added to the gene-pool?
What specialties would you suggest?

Cheers!

I like the DWB art a lot more, but there are a couple of additional colors for Trakes, I think.

I breed show jumping DWBs, but driving and dressage also seem fairly popular. I've run into quite a few active breeders, and the club contests this month have a good field.

Which one needs more dedicated breeders? Trakes I believe
New Blood added to the gene-pool? Trakes need new blood. I got rid of all my old ones because eventually they were all connected.
What specialties would you suggest? Show Jumping or Dressage (maybe driving for DWBs)

I started a line of Trakes but currently have then locked with school starting and applying for colleges but eventually will unlock them. I like the Trakes because we have a few extra colors to breed for (I breed them for high stats (Show Jumping) as well as double dilutes + tobiano patterns)

I did use to have DWB's a few years ago and got into the 4+ generations lol Decided to sell them all. Was looking at some of the other deceased DWBs on my spares and some of their great great great great +++ grand chillens are still around :3

I think I shall do some Trakes as I am in love with the breed art. Thanks everyone!

I would also vote Trakes for similar reasons as Cat's. I bought a herd of established lines and had to create a rather large herd of foundations to accompany them because it seems that so many of the top Trakes right now are related somehow (which isn't bad in itself, it's obvious all the hard work the dedicates breeders have put into their lines!). And I want to make baaaaabies, lol.

I have both breeds on my second and third account, trained in Show Jumping, and after the reduction of breeds I plan to make, they will stay and I'm going to expand their number and work with them more intensively. Maybe I'll add other disciplines for them.

Do dressage takes with me!
Show jumping is definitely a majority of them, which I noticed too late :P
