*Unlimited deluxe, etc

Just wondering how people feel about having an option to purchase an unlimited deluxe account, in addition to the various different upgrade times currently available. Essentially it's a deluxe account which never expires, but is otherwise identical to existing deluxe accounts in every way. I understand these have been available in the past for something like $100. During beta testing it was available just for testing purposes at a cost of 250 EVC. So it seems we could probably expect something like this to cost in the range of 200-250 credits.

Expanding on this, we could potentially have unlimited auto-care and auto-showing available as well. Using the same scaling, we could expect this to cost something like 100-140 EVC.

Do you think prices like this would be reasonable? Would you buy one if it was available? Would there be any down sides to having something like this available to purchase?

I could see myself buying it. Equiverse isn't a game I see myself leaving any time soon and I'm sure many others feel the same way. I could invest in that if it was around $100. Support :)

We had it at the start of the recode, then it was taken away. I can't remember if she has plans to reintroduce it or not.

I would probably try to save up for it if it were available. I've often wished this were an option. Same with the potential for unlimited auto-show and auto-care.

I believe it was an option in the past, as you mentioned. At the time it may have been billed as something that would only be available for a short period of time, so the only downside I can really see would be if the players who purchased it then would now feel cheated if it were available again. (And I'm not sure that that's likely.)

I don't think there's a financial downside to the game. Currently, the largest increment we have is 12 months, and that costs 40 credits. So three years would be 120 credits, thereabout, which is about what I'd expect an unlimited deluxe to cost.
But I think the benefit in having people paying such a large sum at once would outweigh the "risk" of having too many people with permanently deluxe accounts who no longer buy additional deluxe time. (If that makes sense.)

i've always wanted an ulimited deluxe, as i got the unlimited auto shower when it first came out.

then i'd use all my credits on silly items like coat/markings/custom horses/etc etc x3

I can't believe there was unlimited deluxe and auto-show available and I missed out on it. o.O I was here from the start of the recode as well, and even went looking for the unlimited upgrade as soon as I got here and couldn't find it. :(

while it would be nice to have as a limited time offer every now and then, and I would gladly buy it at this point in time, I really don't think it's a good idea to have it as a permanent option.

Servers and domains cost money to keep up with, and while I know not everyone would or could buy one, I do think it would make it a lot more difficult to maintain the game. The more people who have one means fewer credits being bought, as I am sure that that is one of the biggest reasons people buy credits - to keep up their deluxe, and that's what keeps this game running more than anything I'd imagine.

It could be a once a year kind of deal. Or maybe even just whenever abbey feels like it.

That way new players could still get in on it, and Abbey could count on at least 2 or 3 big income boosts for maintainence? It would need to be advertised that the time to buy was coming up, of course, because absent-minded people like myself would forget. Plus some people (like myself) don't have the RL dollars to buy unlimited deluxe, unlimited autocare and unlimited showing, so I'd be dropping $100+ dollars at least three separate times since I don't have all that money now, but could conceivably save up between purchase times.

Another possibility would be to make larger lengths of deluxe time available. Rather than just one year, we could also have 2,3,5, and then maybe 10 years? I'd absolutely save up my credits and drop in all in one go if there were the "savings" on longer amounts of time.

Just adding onto one of the points Kahzie made. Maybe she could make it available when making bigger updates like maybe in preparation for a new breed, foal art, etc? That way whoever didn't get it the first time could get it and abbey would get a larger sum of money in a short amount of time to fund whatever major update is in the works. And I'm sure these large updates will be far and few so it won't come out too often.

I wish I had known about it when it was available. I mostly keep my deluxe account locked so I don't lose days when I'm busy but it makes me less active :/

I like this idea, it's much easier to pay once then to pay multiple times. Going off what Shinku said, maybe it could be a larger fee that could got towards new art, new things added to the game?
