It's Elementary my dear Watson!

We picked my boy up from the kill lot today! One more horse safe from slaughter. I can't wait to get working with him more. The plan is to send him in spring for 60 days of training. He is currently intact but has an appointment December 3rd to be gelded. He was surprisingly easy to handle considering he is intact. I had the vet out right away as he has a lot of nasal discharge and a bit of a cough. So vet checked him out and he has a fever and some type of URI. She isn't positive that it is strangles but gave him an IM antibiotic and some banamine for the fever. So we will be keeping an eye on him and vet is coming back to check him Tuesday and do another IM antibiotic at that time. He is on banamine as needed for the fever. I will go out at 5am to check his temp since I work at 6am....he was a very last minute impulse buy but I just kept watching his video over and over again and felt that he just needed to be with me.

Introducing, Watson!

Oh ain't he handsome! Thank you for giving this guy a second chance ♥ Kill lots make me sad ;-; (our SPCA is actually working to try and ban the live export of horses for slaughter from Canada, so it's a start)
But I'm sure he's going to be a great horse! Hope he feels better soon c:
