Rest In Peace, Rose

It has been a very tough week. On Monday, I had to put my beloved mare, Rose, down. She was 22. We have been together for 13 years and have been through a lot together. She was an incredible horse and this loss is a real heartbreaker, but it was the right decision for her. The horse featured in my profile layout and in my tags and signatures is Rose. 

I'll never forget all of the memories we have together. Rest in peace, Rose. ♥

She was absolutely breathtaking! As someone who owns three senior horses out of our six total at the moment, I worry frequently about when I may have to make a similar decision or when their time will come. My oldest horse also shares your beautiful girl's name, Winter Rose aka Rosie. So, this hit close to home when I saw the title. I'm so, so sorry for your loss. RIP, beautiful girl!

And yes, the most horrible thing as a horse/pet owner is when the hardest decision for you is the best one for them, so it's very brave of you to make it.

I'm so sorry for your loss! Rose was truly stunning. The kindest thing we can do for our beloved animals is let them go when it's their time. It's also the absolute hardest thing to do. RIP Rose ❤️🌹

Omg no… the second I saw this post I got sad. I’m so sorry. Putting a horse down is absolutely the worst. I’m so sorry you had to go through that :’(
I remember colouring her and she was always a pleasure a colour. I’m so sorry. And she always looked like such an amazing horse

Thank you all for your kind words ♥ It has been tough but I am glad to know she is at peace now and no longer hurting. I did a shadow box for her over the weekend. I cried the whole time, but I think it turned out very beautiful.
