Went riding yesterday

#25898 Posted on 2016-04-02 10:57:18

Welp. It's finally been nice and sunny out in BC and since Coco has been retired, I can't really ride him. I did take him out for a light ride yesterday though! And I must say, even after not being ridden in about a year, he was still a perfect gentleman.
Of course he kind of forgot a few things like leg yielding and he was even being his old self and wanting to trot a lot XD But besides that, it was nice to be on the back of my trusty steed again XDD

And a photo from yesterday :D

Excuse my extremely pale skin... I'm not one to really get outside a lot XD

How has the weather been where you guys are? Nice enough to ride I hope :D

Is that a Dr. Cook Bitless bridle? I have a black one for Mack. Coco is quite cute, we just retired Rosie.

Not a dr. Cook. Its from twohorsetack.com. I was looking into dr.cook but they were pricey but I found this place that sells bridles that are made from biothane (not leather so no animal products, but the material they use is excellent. Feels exactly like leather and is super sturdy). Mostly, I love the fact that they sell crazy colours, hence why I bought coco a purple bridle XD I highly recommend this website for especially bitless bridles. Coco is not a bit fan so I had to find an alternative and this website definitely helped me out!

Mine is biothane, got it at a tack resell shop for about $100. A lot better than the Dr. Cook price. I plan to get Mack a white bitless bridle, and I'm happy to see the site you linked has them.

Also we had a rather hilarious riding day a few years ago. It was perfectly sunny, and my dad and I were riding in the pasture. All the sudden the sunny day turns into a hail storm. So, we hurried back to the barn, and untacked the horses. Right when we put the tack away, we walk out...Birds chirping, nice and sunny again. Weather can be weird.

Debating who I'll ride in the video....
Should you guys rather see me riding one of my bays, or my skewbald mare?

Im glad to be of some assistance. I know that site sells white bridles (definitely seem photos of them on there) so I hope you find what you're looking for :D

Haha hail is definitely a weird byproduct of the water cycle.. it always seems to happen so randomly. Last time i had hail was when our power went out at work and we got to go home early. My cats were flipping out trying to "catch" the hail at the window XD
