Murder Mystery RP

Lucia

Lucia took a couple more cautious steps forward. These people didn't look like they wanted her around. "Uh, hi?" She said apprehensively in an attempt to break the tension.

Shane
"Hey," Shane said enthusiastically (or as enthusiastically he could in his state). "I'm Shane, who are you?"

Lucia

This Shane guy seemed slightly less hostile, she guessed it couldn't hurt to introduce herself.
"I'm Lucia, are you guys here because of.." she shuffled around in her bag for the mysterious paper.

"Uh...I seem to have left it in my car." How embarrassing.

Penn
Penn hiked his backpack strap back on his shoulder. He clutched his letter in one hand and a voice recorder in the other as he trudged through the undergrowth. The taxi he'd hired - much too expensive - only went as far as the neighborhood. 
"So I've been walking for about an hour now," he muttered, "and I haven't seen anything. I don't know what I'm looking for. A house? A shopping mall, maybe. Something Clue-ish, I guess. We'll see." 
Suddenly, he paused. Voices echoed through the trees. "I'm not alone," he whispered.

Shane
"Because of a murder? Yes, yes that's why we are here," Shane replied, looking down at Avery and studying the girl.

Penn
The word 'murder' seemed to linger. Penn perked up. "I'm going to keep walking," he said to the recorder. "I think these people are friendly. There's way too much debate for them to be efficient criminals."
He kept walking until he was just inside the clearing, still a good distance from the main action.

Lucia

She blinked.
"Murder? Um...you sure we got the same invitation? Obviously I don't have it with me now, but I don't recall it saying anything about a murder."

She paused as the reality of what Shane had said dawned on her.

"..but I'm guessing that that doesn't exactly matter very much. Has anyone called the police?" she asked gravely.

Penn
Penn had to hurry and interject. He needed this podcast episode - they couldn't call the police. "I think we're okay," he said, jogging toward the group. "I'm sure the police don't need to get involved." He turned to the recorder. "Reminder to edit that out later."

Outlaw
She stood quietly, listening to the others and smoking her cigarette. She finally spoke at the arrival of the newest fellow. "Couldn't call them anyways, no service." She studied him with narrowed eyes. "Also what the heck are you recording, and why."

Penn
"I, ah- it's a thing. That I do. Y'know, crime, and ah- anyway. I'd like to eat, so-" he gestured to the recorder. "Things are expensive."

Outlaw
She studied him with cold eyes, suspicion hanging heavy on her aura. “Uh huh. Sure. Just make damn sure you leave anything about me out.” 

Penn
That was the wrong thing to say to a true crime podcaster. He just nodded sheepishly, running through all the things he might find in his head. That's gonna be another episode. 
Penn cleared his throat. "Um, well, I don't know about you, but I'd like to find out what's going on... Here." He waved indirectly at the body.

Outlaw
“And I mean that as in I will kill you if you don’t” she added calmly, shooting the fellow a piercing stare. “We should go back to Mei, since it appears she’s alone with a dead guy.” She suggested, glancing in the direction of the river. 

Penn
Penn didn't waste time. He started through the woods, already looking for clues or signs of a struggle. There were none.

Outlaw
She rolled her eyes and walked past the boy through the dark woods. “It’s this way moron.” She shot at him over her shoulder. “And no there’s no kill sight, he was dumped by a river.”
