Outlaw
She crouched in the rocks next to the body, rolling it on its side to look at it better. "Sliced throat. That's a painful way to go." She muttered, rolling it back to it's original position. She glanced at the ground around it. "Not much blood here for a sliced throat tho."

Mei
She watched Outlaw examine the body and nodded agreement. "Yeah, it's strange. There's not really any sign of a struggle here either, and the body doesn't look like it's washed ashore. Maybe they were surprised, but still. No struggle while getting your throat sliced? No blood on the ground?" Mei sighed and rubbed her temples. "This reeks of the gods. Whether that means they did it or just need us to fix their problem or both I don't know," she grumbled, forgetting in the midst of her irritation to try and be a bit more subtle about the topic with strangers about.

Shane
Shane studied the girl for a moment, then looked back at the body. "You must really hate your mom," he mumbled, only loud enough for the girl to hear. He shoved his hands in his jacket pockets, tensing his shoulders distractedly as he heard the gods being mentioned. He swayed on his feet, the chill of the night finally getting to him. "I don't think this has anything to do with the gods," he said in reply, not sure if Mei would even pay attention to him. "Unless you're talking about different gods than I am."

Outlaw
"No i doubt it's gods, too small scale for those morons. Probably they where killed somewhere else, and then brought here." She slipped a hand into the pocket of the jacket the corpse used, searching for ID or any other clues.

Mei
Mei tore her eyes from the morbid scene at her feet to look over at him. "Roman? Could be Greek, or any really, but I've mostly had run-ins with the Roman pantheon. Thanks, Dad." She glanced at the sky and winced. The warmth of his hug as she sobbed came back to her, and she hoped he wasn't hurt by the sarcasm. At Outlaw's comment she shrugged. "This could be part of something bigger. But if you guys feel otherwise, maybe it's not them. The kid fits their style, though, for mortals doing dirty work."

Shane
Shane looked up finally at Outlaw, furrowing his brow as he stared awkwardly at her. "Oh, we meet again." He swallowed and looked back down at the body to avoid eye contact, refusing to leave Avery's side. "Good to know that there's another person here that I thought was dead."

Outlaw
She glanced at Shane at his greeting. "I'm never dead Shane." She replied dryly. She turned her attention back to searching pockets, eventually finding a small stack of papers. She squinted at them in the dim light before giving up. "Light please?" She asked the lady standing close to her.

Mei
"Oh yeah, sure." Mei turned the beam of the flashlight onto the stack of papers in Outlaw's hand. "No wallet in the pockets? That's usually where you'd find an ID."

Shane
Shane rolled his eyes, annoyance creeping into his throat. He wasn't sure what he was annoyed by; perhaps it was the lack of response from his sister, or maybe it was seeing a dead body. Perhaps it was the neglected kid he was standing next to, obviously shut off from the world and hurt, seeming to hide her emotions away somewhere dark. Or maybe she didn't have emotions at all, he couldn't tell.

Outlaw
"If you check through these I'll check his pant pockets for a wallet." She suggested, holding up the papers towards the girl.

Mei
She accepted the papers, gripping the flashlight in her mouth to allow her to use both hands to sift through while still providing her with light. It was mostly trivial, but on the last one she almost dropped the flashlight in surprise. She gripped the paper in one hand and took the flashlight in the other. "You may want to see this." It was an obituary for someone named Payton Francis, and the face in the photo was identical, though unmangled and alive, to the body at her feet. She had skimmed it, only a few words sticking out. Loved. Family. Murdered. It all would be fine, if the corpse wasn't still hours old and if the date on the obituary wasn't from ten years ago.

Shane
Shane shuffled over to where the light was, looking at the paper Mei held before he almost passed out from nausea. "This is a fresh body that died ten years ago..." he muttered, looking down at the body and becoming more nauseous as he saw the wound. "There was a shift... I felt that a while ago but I thought I was just crazy."

Outlaw
She glanced at the girls shocked face, then stood from her crouched position and moved to stand next to her so she could see. She quickly scanned the paper, swiftly noticing the date. "The f*ck..." she mumbled looking at the body again. She glanced at Shane at his words. "How'd it happen then? Shift in times? Or from a completely different dimension?"

Shane
"The realities... there was a shift in the alternate realities a few weeks ago," he replied. "This reality must have been caught in an alternate and when they got reorganized this man's reality was left here instead of in the timeframe it's supposed to be in."

Mei
"I am so confused right now." Mei read the obituary more thoroughly, as if it would provide all the answers to their questions, but it was standard, written by a family member, only vaguely referencing the cause of death. She looked up at the two much taller people, who seemed to already be acquainted. "Since it appears we're stuck playing detectives together, I may as well introduce myself. I'm Mei, daughter of Apollo and Margot Roux." These people didn't seem the type to know famous models, but it felt wrong not to mention her mom at all. And as for why this group in particular had been selected to deal with this... odd situation, Mei wasn't quite sure yet. She had a hunch it wasn't like winning a random lotto.
