Where Has Corvus Been?

Hey guys, I've been gone for a little over a month. I'm sorry for disappearing, I know those that were participating in the November contest for One Man's Trash were probably disappointed. I wanted to make a quick post about where I went, when I plan to come back, etc.

Mid-November, we were hit with some serious flooding in Northern Washington. We ended up losing our home, both of our vehicles, and most of our belongings. We had to be evacuated by boat which was pretty crazy (was not expecting my first time on a boat to be like that LOL)

Luckily we had family that we could stay with but it's not a great situation (I've stayed with them before and it went badly). I'm homesick for somewhere that doesn't exist anymore so mentally I'm not doing great and all of the stress has my physical health declining as well.

Anyways, as far as OMT contests go, I'm afraid I'm going to have to discontinue those for the time being. I'm not able to reliably be on EV at this time so I don't want to commit to hosting a contest and let people down. I'm sure they will start up again in the future when we get settled in or find a new place to live. I'm going to TRY to casually come back to EV at the beginning of 2022 in an attempt to return to some semblance of normalcy but we'll see how that goes.

I've missed you guys. Send all hugs that you have please, I need them right about now D:

Don't worry about OMT! I'm sure we all understand and our hearts go out to you! I'm in Tennessee, but if you need anything, whether it's someone to vent to or just to talk my inbox is always open! I hope that everything will get settled eventually and you can gain a sense of normalcy back and build a new home (regardless of if it's a new or old house) to call your own. ♥ Don't worry about us on EV, and we will see you when you get back! Take care of yourself! I hope that despite everything, you still have a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays. Keep your head up. ♥

Sorry to hear your news. I know it will be hard initially but try & stay optimistic as the power of positive thought will help you through.  Sending lots of virtual hugs from across the pond in the UK.

So sorry to hear what happened! I'm just north of the border from you guys and we were hit hard with it too. Lots of people lost their homes. Many of it was farmland too so a lot of animals were lost to the flooding unfortunately. :/
Thankfully I'm at an area at high enough ground that wasn't affected.
I really hope you guys can get back on your feet! I know it isn't easy, but we're all here for you! If you need someone to talk to, I'm always here!

I am in southern Washington, I didn't hear about that, hope you who were all affected are doing good!

Thank you all so much, it's been really hard lately, especially with winter coming on :c I lost most of my clothes and all of my shoes except one pair (that got moldy and I really should have thrown them out but I needed SOMETHING to wear on my feet) so I've been freezing lately. To top all of that off, the day after Christmas the pipes where we're staying froze. We had ice on the walls and the ceiling tiles were falling off because the adhesive was freezing lololol. We had a toilet that barely functioned, no shower, etc. After about a week of no shower (I tried the bucket bath thing and that wasn't enough for me, I felt gross) we caved and had to spend almost another week in a hotel waiting for the pipes to thaw. Nice little mini vacation I guess but oof, when it rains it pours. That first shower in the hotel was the best one I've ever had in my life

On the bright side, we got a small grant (I only say small in proportion to the amount that we lost which was about 60k worth. It was very generous of the organization who helped us out and we are very grateful) so we don't have to stress about where the money for the hotel will come from and I was finally able to get myself a cheap pair of non-moldy shoes and some sweaters! Living that luxurious life now ;)

Anywhoosles, today marks my first day back to EV (barring any other... surprises) so I'm excited for that!

I'm glad you guys are living a good life, and thank God you are all ok. I'll continue to keep y'all in my prayers. :D
