Ability to opt out of events

I like the events, and think it is great for the EV community to come together and enjoy fun times. However, I think some players are not so happy about the events which is why I came up with the idea for players to choose to not participate in some events. The ability to opt out of events should be used if someone doesn't wish to participate for whatever reason. I think this would be nice for people too choose if they do/don't want to participate for certain events.

this was brought up earlier this year, though i'm not sure why people aren't into it as much this time lol. it doesn't really affect people who like seasonal events either way, just gives more options for everyone else.

i'd love maybe an on/off toggle in case you click to opt out by mistake or change your mind later.
