Breyer Customs

Okay, no pictures of my art...yet! But I am working on customizing a few Breyers. The first one I'm hoping to finish up is a Stablemate Arabian mare. Start small, right? She's chestnut right now, but I think I'm going to make her gray like a friend's mare (I have lots of ref images). I plan on pasteling her.

Does anyone else customize models? I have Breyers and some misc. to work on. I also collect Breyers, mostly Classics. ^^

I've taken paint off and repositioned Stablemates, but never painted. Post pics when you do yours!!

I know SWS has customized a few stablemates. Pretty sure she turned one into one of her charries 8D

AHH! Another model horse collector :D I've done several repaints myself and I even CM'd a Unicorn from a Stone Chips Morgan using epoxy and toothpicks :D

I collect Breyers too! Ive done several customs and really enjoy it. I collect mostly Traditionals but have multiple classics, mini whinnies, and stable mates! I also collect Schelich horses, i have around 40 of them 8P

That's awesome. We so totally need a model club :) (I've got over 3000...lol!) Stablemates are my favorite, in fact I'm waiting on some of the new releases to get here-hopefully, they'll be here tomorrow :D

I have tons of breyers, and schleichs. I have done some repainting yes.

Hey, this is OP on other account. This is so cool! I'm glad to see so many people are involved in the hobby here. :) I am looking into doing more Schleich for durability (I have damage to my hands, which makes me a bit clumsier), but yeah.

We definitely need to make a club, oh yes. ^^

Anyway, I only have three traditional models but they are my babies. The 2007 special editions of the metallic buckskin Akhal-Teke and the blue roan Nokota, as well as Black Hand, the Pony of the Americas foundation stallion.

*chanting* club club club Club!

I collect breyers as well, My favorite is s. just a dream and bluegrass bandit and lady phase......

We really need a club.......

I collect mostly Breyer Trads. But I've got a bit of everything. I've painted a few horses, but I'm working on etching right now. For those who don't know, you carefully scrape away the paint to expose the white plastic underneath to create white markings. I'm currently working on making a bay pacer into an appy.

Those are soooo cute, Stormy Ways! -squeaks- I don't normally really dig the acrylics (that's what I did before and it's so hard to hide brush strokes, unlike pastels), but you managed to do really well with the pinto foal.
