Support. I miss the "delete" horse function that old EV had.

I'd support this only if their records don't get deleted like with the old feature. I wouldn't ever use it if by doing so I'd erase their very existence - I get attached lol.

I understand the struggle with waiting for horses to pass on, and would agree on an option to make it easier for users to clean up their herd, but I definitely do not agree with an option for putting down/killing unwanted horses.

In order to avoid the grittier version of putting a horse down (and other terminology) what about an alternate that involves 'setting the horse free', so to speak? Perhaps there could be some area with a magical field of sorts, where you could opt to send your horse, which would take them out of the game, but not involve putting them down or letting them die off. Sorta like how (if you play the pokemon games) you can release a pokemon that's in your box if you no longer want it.

I do agree that the wording should probably be something a bit happier than putting a horse down. Though I'm not sure about the wording of setting a horse free, maybe instead it could be more along the lines of Early Retirement? Where they could be sent to a retirement pasture and live the rest of their days fat and happy, still River's idea but just different wording.

I like River's idea.. "putting a horse down" just sounds harsh and may upset younger players.. How bout something like.. 'donate to local riding school'... sounds much more.. pleasant : )

True, setting free might imply something irresponsible - letting pets wild isn't great. That's why I was thinking it should sound magical, to take the realism out of it. But Sagebrush's idea could be a perfect solution to that, donating to a riding school is realistic enough, but also implies the horse is going to be cared for properly. c:

I like the idea of being able to send older horses to a retirement home, thus taking them out of the game without deleting their records.
