 "I have money, just not enough to go around buying guitars whenever I feel like it," Mason responded, a curt edge to his voice. He began heading across the crosswalk as soon as the traffic cleared, signifying that he wanted the conversation to be over, though he wasn't sure if Em would pick up on what he was trying to convey or not.

She sighed and followed him across. Good going, Em. You never really know what to say and just make people mad. Upon reaching the other side of the street, she spotted a sign pointing out the way to Central Park. "We're almost there."

 Part of him wanted to apologize - maybe he'd been a bit too blunt - but the other part of him decided against it, mainly because he wasn't even sure if he really was sorry. "We are? That's neat," he responded after an unintentional moment of silence, finally looking up from the ground and attempting to get his spirits up. It's gonna be fun.

Margot
At this point Em knew where she was and didn't need to rely on signs (or, in worst case scenarios, her phone). The skyscrapers and shops were familiar and she knew they weren't far at all from a park entrance. "I should have thought before I said anything. You obviously have money if you're staying in a motel." Em turned around the corner and was greeted with the metal gates of Central Park. "The bandshell is a little ways in. I'm not sure which entrance we're at? But we can find a map inside. They have a ton of other stuff, too, like the zoo and the tennis courts and the rinks." Except I have a shoot today, so I can't stay too long.

Mason
 Mason ignored her first statement, but hummed in acknowledgement of the second. He gazed out across the green expanse, taking a deep breath of the stale city air, breathing out the rest of his negative emotions. "What kinds of things do you enjoy?," he asked after a moment, glancing over at Em as they made their way through the gates.

Margot
She snagged a map from the little kiosk nestled near the entrance and flipped it open. There was a larger map on the kiosk itself, with a little "you are here" star. "I like listening to music. Mostly it's from France or Quebec, but I listen to some English stuff, too." Em glanced at the big map and then rotated the one in her hands so that it matched the direction they would need to walk in. Now that she knew what gate they were at she'd be able to better navigate her way to the bandshell, since she knew the park relatively well. She started walking down the path again. "Um, I like to read books. I like macarons, but especially the ones in France. And stargazing. It's hard to do it in the city because of all the light pollution but sometimes we go to Long Island on clear nights. In France we go to the countryside and the stars are so clear there, and in the plane when we're flying over the ocean. I also like that kind of peaceful feeling you get when you're sitting with a cup of hot chocolate or coffee on a cold day and, like, seeing your breath and the steam kind of mingle in the air. And that thing when you're with friends and you're laughing so hard you can't breathe but you also can't stop laughing." Em paused. "Sorry, I rambled. What about you?" 

Mason
 Mase thought for a moment. "I like... music. Playing music, listening to it, writing songs, just being around music... You get the idea. Um... I like speeding down dirt roads - I'm talking, like, really fast. And back in the day we used to take the horses out when our dads weren't around and we'd gallop them out in the wide open fields and just escape from it all. I liked that. I also like my friends, aaand alcoholic drinks. And coffee. OH, and carrot cake!"

"I've never had carrot cake." Em reached down and picked a dandelion growing in the cracks of the walkway. After studying it for a moment, she broke the stem to a more manageable length and tucked the flower into her hair. I wonder if they'll let me keep it in for the shoot. It might not match today's theme, though, whatever it is. "What kind of stuff do you do with your friends?"

Mason
 "How have you not- Okay, never mind." He paused, taking a moment to think. "I guess it depends. I've had a lot of friends over the course of my existence. All different, y'know? So the answer to your question depends on who you're asking about."

Margot
"Oh, right. I forgot about the time thing," Em murmured to herself. The low drone she'd been hearing for a while suddenly became noticeable as a voice talking loudly, and she glanced up to see a small crowd of people gathered around the old, arched structure. "It doesn't look like there's music happening right now." That's a bit disappointing. 

Auberon
Auberon didn't know how long they had been walking, much less where they were walking from. He finally snapped out of his thoughts, his heart racing for a moment with the realization of how quiet he was being. He bit his lip and squeezed Kahlen's hand slightly. "Sorry- I'm being rude." Aka a terrible boyfriend.

Kahlen
"Nonono, you're fine. Besides, I'm the rude one here," Kahlen said with a mildly sarcastic expression.

Auberon
Auberon furrowed his brow. "No, I can definitely be more rude. If you'd like we can go into some coffee shop and see who can pull off being ghe most rude."

Kahlen 
"Is that a challenge, Baker Boy?" Kahlen asked, half-smiling.

Auberon
"It is, Sunshine, and I want you to accept," Auberon replied back.
