Quincy
"Not soon enough. Now that kid is going to always remember the time he was almost kidnapped." His voice was laced with barely suppressed bitterness. "Things like that don't fade into the background." 

Mari 
"But he will also remember the time that he wasn't kidnapped because a kind stranger intervened," Mari replied.

Quincy
His only reply was to snort derisively, eyes following a quickly drifting cloud. Quinn ended up sprawled on his back again, staring up at the sky. His body protested the motion but he ignored it, blinking away the light-headedness.

Shane
Shane's eyes drifted up to Mari unnintentionally again. He hadn't really heard what they had said, as his mind was racing.

Quinn
"Well, at any rate, at least that guy's not going to be hurting any other kids any time soon."

Mari
"Exactly." Mari suppressed another shiver. I'm going to have to get used to this quick.

Quincy
"It's honestly not that cold. Here." He tossed his cloak at her. "I want that back before I leave the park, by the way." 

Shane
"I'm skipping school today... I'll be bored," Shane muttered, thinking over everything he could possibly do.

Mari 
Mari caught the cloak easily, though it was heavier than she expected. "I've got six sweaters. I think I'll be okay," she replied, but put it over her shoulders as she finished, "in a few years." Quinn's cloak helped block out the cold, and it smelled like... a hospital? That made sense, from what she knew about him. 

Quincy
"It's not even winter. You may want to invest in something a bit warmer or layer more when it gets colder." If you can even fit that many layers on a single person. "Or maybe schedule a doctor's appointment. You could be sick." He stifled a yawn, moving his hands out from under his head to crack his knuckles. He put them back and continued staring at the clouds.

Shane
Shane shook his head. "It was hard to get used to it when I moved here too."

Mari
Mari shrugged. Homesick, more like. "Maybe we'll see if I can break the world record for layering sweaters this winter. I'm up to six already, so anything is possible," she joked.

Shane
Shane smiled. "If you really wanted to," he mumbled, looking out over the park.

Quincy
"Some of those kids are wearing t-shirts." He shrugged. "I guess I'm used to it." Why am I sticking around? I should have left by now. 

Mari 
"It still amazes me that people live in this eternal ice cube at all," Mari said. "But it's better than some tropical location, I suppose."
