Only The Strong Survive

Charity
Charity opened her eyes and looked at Ahanu for a moment before nodding. She felt abnormally tired, although recently that had been normal for her.

Ahanu
"Why don't you finish drinking your water before you go down there? I don't want you passing out in the water." He sat down against a different tree. Ahanu ran his hand through his hair, detangling it. 

Charity
Charity groaned quietly to herself, grabbing her water bottle and drinking the rest of it. "Where's the soap?" she asked.

Ahanu
"You still have half the bar soap. Here's the shampoo." He rolled it to her. 

Charity
Charity looked down at her hand, which still held the bar of soap. "Yeah, I do," she muttered grabbing the shampoo and heading down to the river. She was wearing shorts luckily (she had changed her pants during the night in hopes of making herself sonewhat comfortable), so she kicked off her shoes and wadded into the water slowly. Once she was deep enough for her comfort, she finally just sat down in the water. It was surprisingly kind of nice for her- it woke her up and made her feel less disgusting. She got her hair thoroughly wet before running shampoo through it and rinsing it out. I have a few extra clothes back at the hut... I'll just change into those when I get back. After a few extra minutes of washing herself, Charity got up and out of the water, shaking her head back and fourth to relieve her hair of some water.

Ahanu
As soon as she had left he had moved to the tree she had been at to minimize any chance of accidentally seeing. Ahanu tried to squeeze as much water from his hair as he could, but the attempts weren't too successful. At least his shirt was drying. His pants were definitely dirty again, but he hadn't really scrubbed it.

Charity
Charity wrung out the corners of her shirt, then started on two french braids for her hair. She walked back to where Ahanu was, managing to tie the last braid (she had gotten plenty of experience in braids).

Ahanu
He looked up, having just thrown his hair into a ponytail. Seeing Charity, he scrambled to his feet, brushing off the forest debris on his pants. "We probably look like we fell in instead of purposely getting in." 

Charity
Charity laughed. "Well, if it makes for a better story... actually I used to do that to my parents all the time. Mostly for attention since Auberon got the majority of it," she said, smiling at the thought. "I made it look like I had been dragged by my horse once and came in crying. It worked really well actually."

Ahanu
A crack in the woods stopped the wirds Ahanu was about to say from ever leaving his mouth. One hand went to his pistol, while the other reached out for Charity. When a squirrel jumped out of the brush Ahanu chuckled sheepishly and put his gun away. "Sorry, thought it was a zombie or something. What now?"

Charity
"Food?" Charity mumbled, realizing how hungry she felt.

Ahanu
"Sure." He took her hand again and started back to the structure in the trees.

Charity
Charity followed him again, looking around the forest thoughtfully.

Ahanu
He came to a stop under the boards of the flooring. "I like your hair like that." It came out hurried, all together. Ahanu cleared his throat and studied the grass. "What would you like to eat?"

Charity
Charity smiled at the compliment, although she was pretty sure she was smiling more at how cute he was. "Um... I don't really know... I guess something that's in between filling and just kind of, not filling enough."
