Humanity First RP

   The year is 5026. Environmental movements have failed. the Earth has become a lifeless, gray wasteland, impossible to survive in. Because of this, the humans have built a gigantic city, equip with everything to sustain them, from clean water, a stable food source, fresh air, and any kind of entertainment they could ask for. People are safe to live their lives under the watchful eye of the Head, as long as they never question anything, especially what's behind the city walls.
   The humans themselves have changed a lot. Almost everyone has at least some genetic modifications, from purple eyes to fish gills to super-human strength. This is the norm for everyone, and no one could even imagine a time when this didn't exist. 
   There are some people who go against this and the Head, though. They are shunned, and their existence covered up by the Head, but they do exist. They live in the shadows, rejecting the life that is pushed upon them. The search for the truth, to uncover the secrets hidden by the Head, and to restore the world to the way it once was.They are the ones who question what's behind the walls, and perhaps one day, they will see for themselves.

Appearance: 6’3, tanned, dark blonde hair up to her waist, ice blue eyes, and many many scars. Is always dressed in dark blue jeans, shirt like this, black cowboy hat, boots, and belt, and pistols. Can blend uncannily into shadows. 
Personality: She’s a loner, doesn’t care for being around others and is perfectly content living her life in the shadows, not that that keeps her from picking a fight with the Head’s people once in a while. She completely despises the set up and wants out of the city.

Appearance:
- Mason is 5'7, lanky, and attractive... in a strangely intriguing sort of way. He has shoulder-length strawberry blonde hair and dark, ever-sardonic gray-green eyes. His pale skin is riddled with scars that he has acquired throughout his prolonged life. He can be seen wearing a dirty long-sleeved vest over a faded tie-dye t-shirt and occasionally a beat-down hat or cap of some sort. He has a Led Zeppelin tattoo on his right shoulder blade, a 'September 1978' tattoo on his right collarbone, and a black-eyed Susan tattoo on his left wrist, plus some other arm tattoos I didn't mention here initially because I hadn't added them to his story yet but I'm mentioning here now for timeline consistency, a notable one being a quote along the inside of his left arm.
Personality:
- Either he's your best friend or he tells you to your face that you're a loser while smiling. There's no in-between. That being said, Mason is a pretty friendly and approachable guy, but the moment that you ask about his past is the moment that your perception of the world will be skewed forever. Mason is one of those people who has absolutely perfected, "if I act like I don't have any fears, I will eventually forget all of my fears", which has actually kind of worked out for him, but he is terrified of one thing, though he's not as scared of it as he is almost intimidated by it.
Backstory:
- Uh so basically, he was born in 1786 but over the years has gotten stuck in time more times than he can count and has been living in this time period for a couple of years now. If you're confused, please just refer to this lol.

- Perry is 5'9. His dirty blonde hair is chin-length, though he usually has it tied up in some way, so it's kind of hard to tell. Oh, and he is literally just a human chameleon. His skin is pale most of the time, though when he's feeling very content, it turns a shade of almond brown; when he's frightened, certain patches (usually on his arms and face) turn turquoise, sometimes with a bit of red mixed in; when he's upset, it will begin to turn a very dark shade of gray. He cannot control his skin color at all. His eyes are just a normal hazel in color, though, when he's taken by surprise, a bit of turquoise can be seen alongside the different shades of brown and green.
Personality:
- Salty but sensitive. Acts tough but is really not tough whatsoever. Very defensive but only for a minute or so. Really likes plants and researching the complicated history of his family.
Backstory:

Appearance: Cyborg person? Almost the entire right side of her body has been replaced with metal parts (cleverly hidden as flesh and blood) her torso being the exception. Strawberry blonde hair that reaches to her waist, turquoise eyes flecked with gold and silver. Tan skin, 5'3", but call her short and she'll give you a black eye.
Personality: Attentive, takes the initiative, empathetic, good at reading people, ambivert, likes to tease and has a slightly sarcastic sense of humor, and let's be honest, she unconsciously flirts with people, although she'd be mortified if she realized it.
Backstory: You'll find out :) But they're sisters

I would like to keep the genders relatively even, yes. It's okay if there are a few more of one gender than the other, though.

Appearance: Short, curly dirty blonde hair, and dull blue eyes. 5'11, average pale skin. Has a modification to his right eye and arm, helping aid in medical procedures.
Personality: Bubbly and boisterous. Will follow authority until he feels that the authority is in the wrong. Definitely a people pleaser.
Backstory: Lives with his sister and niece inside the walls. I have a headache and kinda don't wanna write this tbh :^) I'll edit with my other character soon

Backstory: Floyd escaped with his mother when he was very little, and she left him with a group of others outside the walls. Idk im kinda makin this up as i go

Appearance: Pale grayish skin with darker freckles on his face. He has medium-long brown hair and gills on either side of his neck. He has green eyes that match his usual v-neck t-shirt.
Personality: Jacob is a kind-hearted and naive guy, who is easily manipulated. Whatever he does, he does with good intentions.
Backstory: Jacob grew up in the city learning not to question his life and to appreciate what the Head had given him. He gained the beliefs of those he meet,which usually consisted of praising the head and hating those who rejected it.

Appearance: frizzy red hair and medium tan skin. she has one gold and one orange eye that she had inherited from her parents who served the Head. She usually wears a knee-length light brown dress, sometimes with a cream-colored shawl when it's cold.
Personality: Jackie is a feisty young girl, who sometimes jumps into situations before thinking them through. 
Backstory: Jackie was born to parents of the Head. They mysteriously disappeared when she was only two years old. she was taken in out of pity by an old woman who was against the Head and has been raised with their beliefs ever since.

Appearance: Nyla is about average height for age at 4'1". Her skin is the color of chocolate, and her waist-long, dark brown hair consists of tight curls. Her eyes, dark brown, have gold-colored flecks in them. Nyla has a slim build. Her typical clothing style is a colorful blouse and flowy skirt. 
Personality: Nyla is typically very cheerful and energetic, very much a young girl. She is surprisingly calm in stressful situations, and when the opportunity allows, shows a maturity beyond her age. 
Backstory: Nyla has an interesting story, and I'll spare you all the details. Basically, she has lived many lives, doomed to die anytime in her fifteenth year of living, only to be reborn. Her original name, millennium ago, was Wynnfrith. 


Name: Ashwin [Ash] Pemberton

Career: Patrol [watches for anything that seems out of place/law-breakers/etc. - basically a policeman lol]
Appearance: Ash is an even six feet tall. His skin is the color of copper, and his hair is the shade of silver. A splash of rose gold freckles cross his nose. His eyes are the only naturally human color, a soft hazel. 
Personality: A strict rule-follower, and wants everyone else to follow the rules as well. he can be a bit harsh, but he thinks what he's doing is right.
Backstory: Having grown up in this society, Ash has come to believe that the Head is right.
