So sad our country hasn't done didly squat since Columbine, so now we do this junk. Lockdowns are effective for sure, just wish we didn't live in a world where we have to worry about being killed in school.

We had a horrible lockdown in HS. It was awful because they told teachers to keep teaching like nothing was going on, although something was clearly going on, and the school didn't keep us up to date at all. Hope everything is going okay for you though!

When I was in highschool we had a lockdown that lasted 3 hours because of a "suspicious" person being on campus. Hopefully yours didn't last that long.

Yeah my senior year (February of 2017) someone posted on social media that they were going to shoot up the school. We had local police, county police, and state troopers come in for a week. The kid who made the threat was deemed "non-viable" and was let back into school.....crappy protocol as normal people would not threaten to do that.

Remember Bert the Turtle and Duck and Cover? Those nuclear bomb drills are now active shooter drills...smh

I remember having a lockdown last year bc one of the nearby houses was robbed and a firearm was missing. It was horrible and nerve wracking. The worst part was that some of the teachers kept teaching like nothing was happening and it was real!

Well, I found out wht the second note was about. We had a secure the building because the note said "The shooting will be at 12:00 tmrw" Really scary! But nothing happened thanks to our awesome staff and officers. At least now they are really monitoring our school highly. I think I have narrowed a suspect down to the fact that it migh and I say might

We had a lock down last semester at my college. There were reports of someone with a long rifle seen walking into the woods that line the buildings. The report was made about 20 min before my class was set to start. There were already several officers on the scene, but they were still letting students on campus and into the buildings!
I thought a lock down was supposed to keep those inside in and those outside out. The building door were locked, but an employee was letting students in and telling us to go straight to our classrooms and that we were in lock down. I tried to just walk back to my car, but they wouldn't' let me. They had officers all around the buildings, helicopters out, dogs out, it was nuts. Anyway, we had to stay until they lifted the mandatory lock down and said we can leave at our own risk.
