@Duck - I might well take you up on that when I'm less likely to swear!

@C.razy A.ngel - Yeah; I do think there should be a better balance in general in both our countries.

I mean free healthcare for all has got our health care system on its knees and I feel

So sorry about that. US is very greedy with their money. We are dealing with it on daily basis. People tend to assume that America is this perfect little country with all freedoms...

All cancer treatment are ridiculously expensive and not everyone survived it. If they have 100% survival rate, then sure... I can see why they charge so much. I am quite ashamed of US right now... my friend decided to take a dangerous risk by not buying new EpiPen when her old one expired because US decided to charge more for it. Like dude, EpiPen is a lifesaving tool and they are being dead serious on charging us $500+ for it.

Fabelhaft, have you look into other countries? I know that several Americans would travel to other countries to get treatments or surgeries because it's a lot cheaper (our favorite example: getting hip replacement twice while vacationing in Spain are still A LOT cheaper than US's cost for one single hip replacement).

*punches america in the face*

ANARCHY AND FREE TREATMENT FOR ALL

seriously, that sucks. No one should DIE because of money. We've made money the focal point for everything, and now we're pricing human life. Unbelievable......many prayers coming your way! (though they be angry ones)

@Sessa - thats a tad harsh! Im sure all countries have their faults :s but your right. The whole worlds gone money obsessed & lost sight of the important things.

@Bandit - thanks very much. Its appreciated.

@Andromeda - Thats terrible; one of my girlies needs an Epipen (well I say need you know what I mean!) so I know how important they are. But how much?! I'll have to tell her that; her reaction will be of shock & horror much like my own is.

There actually is free healthcare in the US for people under a certain earning threshold! Medicaid is a Federal one and there are state programs too - they are technically insurance, but they cover 100% in cases of low income (I know because I was there at one point in my life). Unfortunately I don't think there is any option like that for non-citizens. :/

Praying so hard for a miracle!

So sorry to hear this, life is most of the time incredibly unfair and these days life unfortunately does seem to have a worth, it's unbelievable.

I wish you and your family lots and lots of strength!

@Siren - We were/are looking at other countries but since this morning the plot thickens. A doctor in Leeds (in the uk where we live & no where near as far as America!) has gotten wind of his case & says she may be able to offer the same treatment so she's going to liaise with the American Doctor.
