I thought it would be nice to have dapples on our graying horses instead of them just fading over time. But because this hasn't been done already, I figured there must be a reason why? Does anybody know? Thanks!! 💖

I have this guy, who's Silver Grullo, I doesn't gray out. Maybe he's not the same color as you were thinking of, but he's gray and has silver dapples.

Yeah, I've seen horses like that and have had one, but what I'm talking about is like a proper graying out with dapples.

Actually Arabians do dapple out when they go grey I think (see here 14yo and here 5yo) I don't think there's really a reason why not all breeds have it, I think it was just an artist's decision when they made the art! But I know there as some suggestions in the color topic and on the suggestions thread about making grey more dynamic if that's something that interests you I'd take a look through there!

There used to be a lot of different grey variations, does anyone know what happened to them?

^ A lot of new colors were added for the recode, so it was probably decided during the art-making process that making different shades/variants of what is essentially the same thing (dark bay, light bay, dark dappled gray, light dappled gray, fleabitten gray, and extensive fleabitten gray if I remember correctly) was deemed unnecessary. But eh, that's just my guess.

In the old art Grey didn't change over time like it does now and some breeds had different grey shades that stayed the same through their whole life. I think there was something like Gray and Steel Gray for Warmblood breeds? possibly fleabitten and dapple Grays as well in Arabs. There was no way to breed for a Gray variation, it was just a random selection as far as I can recall. But then I didn't breed for gray to begin with xD

Maybe I'll make a thread in Suggestions. Idk, I just figured I'd ask because I thought there might be an art related reason or programming or something that would make it impossible. It's not something I'm just dying to have right now, either, though I think it would be a cool addition in the future. I'm personally way more excited about getting foal art at the moment haha.
