Luxury Items - Potential Game Addition

Luxury items are a topic that Abbey and I have discussed as a feature we could potentially bring to the game, so I'm opening up a space here for us to talk about it together and weigh in on how we would like the feature to be implemented, if and when it is.

Essentially the idea is this - to introduce some unique, non-essential, and high-price items to the game. Spending on these luxury items would help bring some of the money very wealthy members are holding on to back into the game, and prevent it from languishing in bank accounts. The type of items would be 'luxury' and non-necessary in nature, i.e. they would have no impact on gameplay, and would provide no advantage of any kind within the context of the game and would only function as a 'nice to have'.

The primary purpose is to prevent a kind of economic stagnation, without giving further advantage. Granted this feature would add little for players who could not afford it, but it could be seen as something to save up for if you really wanted one of these luxury items. Here are some potential thoughts I have had on what these items could be:

• Personal hall of fame for your favourite horses


• Special frames for your horse images or for your tag


• Exclusive backgrounds or decorative items (I imagine these as non-sell items)


• Ability to set a stable image or customize the stable page


• BBCode status


• Featured horse

Oh heck yes! 
I’d love to spend money on things like this. 
The personal hall of fame, stable image/customization, and exclusive items and backgrounds appeal to me most. 

another possibility might be the ability to purchase a “placement boost” when listing a horse for sale/stud/brood. So your horse would be placed ahead of all other regardless of method of sorting (though with some indicator that it’s placment was due to a boost - a star beside the name maybe?)

If we have a personal hall of fame, is there any way we could have the option of including our deceased horses?

Ooooh, I like the personal hall of fame idea! I agree with RemRem and Raptor on that question.

I like the idea of all of these, especially so that richer members have something nice to spend their money on! (Lol not me atm but hope is a wonderful thing right..?)

I envision a personal hall of fame that would let you select some certain number of horses from among all the horses you've ever owned, so both living and deceased ones. *thumbs up*

I'm not a fan of the idea of boosting studs/sales horses because that would in fact affect gameplay. I don't think already rich members need a boost to sell/stud their horses. I don't want anything that will increase the divide between rich and poor. The other ideas I wholeheartedly support! I'd love to be able to buy pretty things for my horses.

I do find featuring studs/broods intriguing, but that's a good point Syrien, it would provide some advantage - perhaps that's something that could be implemented at another time or another way (maybe it could be placed on the page when you log in, and would randomly show a horse for stud/brood, for example).

I do like the idea of various money sinks though. Pretty and useless items are fun!  :)

Personally, I would love to be able to register my horses to my stables (like club horse registry feature but for my own stable). I've considered about created my own club page for my stable but managed to stop myself from doing it XD It will make things much easier for me to keep track of my horses that I've sold. Plus I would love to have my own stud/brood/sale feature that comes with registry. (it would be good way to replace branding/prefix issue)

I also would love to have hall of fame for my horses so I can see their achievements.
