one thing i really hate

#142547 Posted on 2018-01-22 08:35:44

I hate how people try and say pitbulls shouldn't be pet but they are the sweetest most loving dogs ever. my girl was beat by people and still found love in her heart to love me back. she didn't have much hair skinny and scared but she is doing so much better. her before life is just a memory now. she enjoys being outside, the dog park, and eating.  everyone meet Mommaz the mean pitbull lol

she is waiting for me to drop food on the floor so she can eat it lol

This really bothers me too. There is a video circulating on Facebook that's a potential super bowl ad saying don't adopt pit bulls.

When I adopt, I'm hoping to adopt a pitbull (or mix). Your pup is super adorable, btw

ANY dog breed can be dangerous in the wrong hands when left untrained so I understand your frustration. I used to have a Rottweiler when I was younger & a softer dog you couldn't meet. She'd have licked you to death not savaged!

Personally I have had more bites from untrained little dogs like yorkies & chihuahuas but of course because its so small the irresponsible owners just laugh & say "aww bless it". If a big dog was left as untrained as them there'd be uproar.

Back to your doggie; I love her radar ears!

Same here. I’ve never owned a pittie or pit cross cause all our big dogs are completely outdoor dogs to keep away wildlife and pits don’t have enough fur to keep warm in our Alberta winters, but I’ve been with them when we went visiting at the shelter and I loved them. Also, we once had a collie cross who was real aggressive, but mind you that was cause she had been kept in a tiny little yard in town and then suddenly she’s on our huge farm, she went totally bizerk, Dad had to put her down cause she was going after our cows, horse and pony, and us, so that was the last straw for him when she tried to bite his kids. Just an example of how any breed has the potential to be aggressive if not treated right.

Your doogie is so sweet!! That expression!!! :D

When I learned that they were starting to ban pit bulls in certain states, it broke my heart. 💔 They are such sweet and gorgeous dogs!
I do believe it is mostly (there could be more to it); there was an incident that a bulldog (I think) went over to its owners niebors house and killed the neighbor. When the police got there, they found the dog. One of the police said it was a pitbull. Even though some people said that it was indeed a bulldog, the state said "the police said it was a pitbull; therefore it is a pitbull". Since then I have seen massive breakouts of people hating pitbulls. ): it is just so sad.

its stupid to think just because a dog looks mean and has strong body then they shouldn't be pets. and my dog isn't even really a pitbull. she is an american Stafford shire terrior. a cousin to the pitbull but just because she looks like one she is on the vicious breed list i can't have her at many place but thank god for service dogs.

They are such sweet dogs! My grandparents had a lab/pit bull mix when I was a kid and she was great ♥

@Fabelhaft I didn't own a Rottweiler, but my riding instructor had one and he was just the biggest love bug ♥ I also agree with the any dog comment and the little dog one, as my mom's little dog was more aggressive then my big dog, but not, thankfully, to the extreme, just the one that was more OMG DANGEROUS HUMANS I SHALL BARK AT YOU, and add that little dog I'm ferocious growl to it whenever anybody knocked at the door XD

ughhhhhh i hate the whole "ban pitbulls because theyre dangerous and have killed people!!" Yeah, well ANY dog could kill someone if it wanted to, and aa a matter of fact there have been plenty of dog attacks where the dog wasnt a pitty, or a staffy, or an american bull terrier or any of those "dangerous dogs". Pitbull are so good with children as well (I'm not saying ALL pitbulls because every dog is different, but all of the pitbulls I've seen/babysitted/met have been great) one of my close friends recently had their first baby and after they had, they rescued three pitbulls (they were all crosses because fullblood pits are hard to come by in my country), two of which had been rescued from death row, one was in the pound for attacking a dog and a child. They brought them home all together in seperate cages, and introduced them at home. They were all a bit growly for the first couple of days, but they all get on really well now, and all three of them absolutely ADORE baby Bee, and you can often find them all cuddled up in a pile around her.

My boyfriend has a pitbull and she is the sweetest dog in existence. She's licked my boyfriend and his husband for like half an hour straight before. She licked my nose so much she took the first layer of skin off and it hurt and was bright red for a few days. xD But that's about as dangerous as she gets!

My youngest sister has a year old Pit mix and he's the most dorkiest lovable dog you could find. Not aggressive at all..he'd run scared before he would ever attack. Loves kids and lots of belly rubs..he also loves my horse.

Storm your dogs ears I'm in love

But I too hate that they have such a bad rap, I have two mixed pitties myself one looking more pit then the other, any dog breed can be dangerous in the wrong hands. I've meet more agressive tiny little devil ankle biters then any big "mean" pitbull or any other medium to large dog breed. In my opinion it's all about how they're raised and that they got the right training and socialization. People need to stop judging the dogs looks and look toward the owner of that particular dog.

I 100% agree. I think they're the sweetest dogs ever. They used to be as popular as a house pet breed as Labs were, until they began to be used for dog fighting, which changed their image.

I've never had one, but they're one of my dream dogs! Unfortunately it will be a while until I will be able to get one. I'm not allowed to have animals right now in the house I rent, and in October (ish) I'll be moving. For the next few years after I move I'll be living in apartments. Most apartments won't allow "Aggressive Dog Breeds" (which is ridiculous!). Of course I could try to find an apartment that accepts any dog breed, however when I move I will have to consider price, location, and what it looks like first before I can consider whether it allows certain dog breeds. There are plenty other dog breeds that are always accepted that I really want as well.
Therefore, I'll have to wait about 5 years until I can settle into buying a house with some land where my future pittie will be able to play and run :D
