She looked over at Kahlen. "Yeah." She wasn't sure where Kahlen was going, but she knew she probably wouldn't like it.

She sat a moment in silence, not sure how to respond. "I.." She sighed. "It makes sense. My question is why would anyone willingly invite the Voice?" She assumed that was the 'presence' Kahlen mentioned.

Auberon sorted and orginized the ambrosia and nectar. All the while thinking, how in the world does Denver do this everyday?
Finally he turned around and asked. "Denver, how in the world do you do this everyday?"

Jade
She looked out into the woods, thinking, trying to connect the dots. Water seeped up from the ground and twirled in her hand absentmindedly. She turned confused eyes to Kahlen. "What does that have to do with -" her eyes widened. "You don't mean - ? When he said I had been 'given' to him?"

She rubbed her arms, the cold feeling more pronounced. "I can't let that happen," she said softly. Just picturing Noah's eyes was enough to give her shudders of fear.

Kahlen looked deep in thought, but Jade noticed the faraway look in her eyes. Jade had become quite adept at reading eyes over the years. They sometimes showed what their owner tried to hide. Kahlen's were always a bit harder to read. "Kahlen?" She said gently.
