Jade
She glanced around the tent and couldn't help but sigh with disappointment. She thought maybe - just maybe - Alex would still be there. Of course not. I knew he wouldn't be. Jade slipped into a Camp Half-Blood T-shirt and pulled her gray hoodie over it, tugging her hair back into a ponytail. As she was making her bed, her vision swam, and suddenly she was standing in the forest, Noah a little ways away.

Noah
He grinned at Jade. "Morning, sweetheart." He looked her up and down. "Nice outfit. We're matching." He laughed, pointing to his orange shirt. Jade's smile was uneven and nervous. "Did you hear about the chimera? Something happened to the golden fleece, and that chimera got into the camp." Jade's face betrayed no emotion as she asked, "Wh-what happened?" Noah walked toward her and slung his arm over her shoulder. He nodded satisfactorily, for she didn't stiffen or flinch. "While everyone was busy staring, I killed it. The camp's safe now!" He chuckled. Jade looked at him sideways. "Wh-what happened to the golden f-fleece?" Noah shrugged, his eyes glinting. "Nobody knows. But enough about me and camp. How are you, sweetheart? Sleep well?" Jade shrugged. "G-good enough." Noah nodded. "Demigod dreams stink sometimes. But I know you, you'll persevere." He smiled warmly at her. "Well, I've got to go do camp stuff, and you've got a quest. I'll see you later, sweetheart." His grin broadened as she looked at her shoes a moment before giving him a kiss. "You're learning," he hummed, and then he left her.

Jade
She slumped as the vision faded, taking a deep breath. She finished making her bed and strode from her tent, collapsing it. Her shivers weren't as bad today, but the cold was the same. She glanced around the camp and spotted Kahlen, walking over to her. "Kahlen, there's something you might want to hear."

Auberon thought that maybe going and asking Denver if he needed help with anything might get his mind off things. He headed over to the infiramry.

"Yeah, I'm fine. That presence was probably Noah. He showed up... a few times yesterday. He just visited me a few minutes ago for his daily check-in. And Noah says the golden fleece is missing. I'm almost positive he knows what happened to it, but he didn't say he did. The camp was attacked by that chimera, and apparently Noah slayed it." She shrugged. "This is all coming from him, though, so who knows how accurate him being the 'hero' of the day is."

She nodded. "I think he knows what happened to it. When he mentioned it, his eyes kind of glinted." She sighed. "I'm already tired of his daily visits and there's only been one. But at least I might be able to get news about camp."

Auberon followed Denver slowly. "Organize them by dose size..." he mumble trying to understand what that meant. His head was slightly spinning from lack of sleep. "Well I'll try I suppose."

Katie had woken early (as usual), and stupidly decided to wander into the forest alone, looking around. She came across a dirty creek, and sat at the edge, watching a few small silver fish dart through the weeds as the sun came up.

She smiled. "It's not too bad," she lied. "I just can't believe Noah turned out to be... the way he is. When I first met him he was so nice."

"I fidget when I'm nervous and bored, too, you know," she said with a small laugh, then she too became serious again. "People don't usually change that much in a single day."
