Greek Mythology Roleplay

Kahlen 
Kahlen ran a hand through her dark, chocolatey brown hair. "They'll keep coming back..." She murmured. She vowed that she'd do her best to keep her brother safe- and, she admitted, everyone else- as long as she was able. She got up and left. Denver followed her.

Jade
Hearing his voice, she quickly wiped away the tears. She glanced up, the emotion in his voice causing a whirlwind in her stomach - guilt, compassion, and a variety of others. She had to force herself not to cry again. "No, it's - it's fine. I'm sorry, too. I shouldn't have snapped at you like that." She stood, grabbing the rail to help her up. "I had... I had a friend die because I gave up." She looked at the wooden boards of the porch and cleared her throat, feeling awkward. She blinked back more tears and looked at Alex, seeing him leaning on the door for support. She mentally kicked herself and walked over, managing a shaky grin. "You didn't fall out of your seat when they showed the sirens," Jade commented, feigning disappointment.

Alex
Alex pretended not to notice the tear tracks on her face, instead listening to what she was saying. After what Jade had said, Alex felt even worse about what he had said, but at that point, another 'I'm sorry' didn't seem appropriate, so Alex just left it, focusing more on Jade's last statement. "Yeah, sorry, I'd already used all of my effort to fall out of my chair before the movie."

Jade
She laughed softly, turning to Chiron [who had thankfully pretended to be deaf this whole time]. "Hey, um, Chiron?" she said. "Where can we go to get his leg looked at? He got squished by a chimera." She glanced at Alex and whispered out of the side of her mouth, "Sorry about that, again." Kahlen and Denver walked out of the house and onto the porch, Kahlen with that determined look on her face that never seemed to not be there. Jade decided that she was probably pretty cool, since she'd helped with the chimera. Jade glanced up the hill and couldn't see it.

Kahlen
Kahlen saw the two kids- Jade and Alex- and turned to her brother. She jumped slightly as she saw the glowing symbol above his head. "Denver, sweet brother," she said, slightly alarmed, "you have a glowing symbol hovering over you." "So do you...." He said. 

Alex
"Eh, it's no biggie." Alex replied, turning when Kahlen was talking. "Woah! You guys have already been claimed!" Alex watched the flickering symbols in amazement, remembering what the film had said about being claimed. "I'm not sure who that symbol belongs to, though...."

Kahlen
Kahlen whipped around. Her voice seemed to go up several octaves. "Claimed?!"

James
 After standing up and stretching, James made his way out of the room and down the hallway. He noticed some old photographs, paintings, and relics displayed on the on the walls. Pausing, he looked at what was described as a Minotaur horn, according to the gold plaque below it. Turning away after a few seconds of observation, he started to near the exit, but stopped short when he noticed Denver and Kahlen.
 "That seems... completely normal. Yup, nothing out of the ordinary here, folks..!" he commented, forcing a faked laugh as he took a step back.

Jade
Her mouth dropped, and she reminded herself to close it. Two shimmering images floated above the twins' heads. She racked her brain for who the symbol belonged to. "Apollo!" she blurted. "You guys' dad is Apollo." She grinned at them, thinking about how cool that was. Oh snap, I'm a demigod too, she thought. She had almost forgotten her dad was a god. She wondered again which one. The thoughts of her dead friend faded, along with the pain that came every time she thought of him. She couldn't help but compare him to Alex, and she felt bad for doing so. They were totally different, and it was unfair to both to compare them. She realized she had been staring into space for a longer-than-normal amount of time and quickly blinked and glanced at her feet. So much for the thoughts fading, she admonished herself. Jade tried to focus back on what was happening and stop dwelling in the past. It wouldn't help anybody if she did.

Denver
Denver patted his sister on the shoulder. "Finally finding out who our other parent is," he murmured.

Alex
"What's Apollo the god of?" Alex asked, turning to Jade, seeing as at this point and time, she seemed like the most educated on the gods.

Jade
"The sun, I think." She looked at the shimmering signs. "Yeah, I'm pretty sure he's the sun." She grinned at everyone. "I guess Wikipedia actually comes in handy sometimes. Technically I wasn't allowed to use Wikipedia for that project, but the teacher never found out, so I'm good." She winked at Alex, dramatically putting her finger to her lips in a don't snitch on me kind of way. 

Chiron's hooves clopped on the wooden slats. "Yes, you are correct, Jade Harper. Apollo is the god of the sun, along with archery, music, poetry, prophecy, and medicine." He dipped his head to the twins. "Welcome to Camp Half-blood, children of Apollo." The satyr disguised as a policeman came into view. "He will give you a tour of the camp and show you your cabin," Chiron said. The satyr nodded and beckoned for the twins.

"Hey, see you guys around," Jade said to the twins, smiling. 

Denver
"God of medicine... cool!" He grinned at his sister.
Kahlen 
One of the kids walking by snickered. "And he looks like a blond hippie, too!"
Kahlen stared at her brother. "I... uh..." She stammered. 
Denver
Denver put his arm around his sister. "Let's go see our cabin."

Alex
Alex grinned. "Good luck!! We'll see you.... later?" He finished off with kind of a question, unsure if they would actually be seeing them later, but Alex would try.

James
 "I wonder who my godly parent is?" he wondered aloud, more to himself than anyone else. He considered  the 'lock thing', as he'd taken to calling it. They'll probably think I'm crazy... but hey, I'm pretty sure everyone here is, so I might as well give it a shot.
 "Hey uh, do any of you know anything about a god or goddess that can maybe manipulate locks? You know, just wondering... locks sure are cool and all."
 Real smooth, James, he hissed to himself.

Ethel
 She had spent a solid ten minutes studying the artifacts, and reached the door just as Denver and Kahlen left.
 "...What did I miss? I was, ah, looking at the decorations, which are super cool by the way. Why are they leaving?" she asked, gazing at the small crowd in confusion.
