"Oh. That. That's all?" He withdrew it from his jeans and tossed it flippantly to Kahlen. "Glad to get rid of that thing. Aphrodite was breathing down my neck, livid. Wasn't my idea, though." He disappeared in a puff of red smoke.

"I can't believe I'm the daughter of a stuck up jerkface..." She trailed off as she paced back and fourth.

Katie
"Did he say it wasn't his idea?" Katie asked, when they caught up to what sounded like Kahlen. "Also, hey guys."

Eudora looked up suddenly. "KATIE!!! YOUR ALIVE!!!"

Katie
Katie grinned in the direction from where her name had come from. "Yeah, I guess so."

Eudora
"I am so sorry that I did that to you," she said feeling a little apprehensivly.

Katie
"Hey, no hard feelings." Katie grinned, feeling with her free around her neck, whimpering in pain as she brushed exposed nerves. "Can I get someone to look at this?" She waved her hand at her neck wound. "It cut close to my artery, and hasn't stopped bleeding."

Jade
She heard shouting and wondered what it was about, looking up briefly before putting her head in her hands again. She felt miserable. "No," she mumbled, "stop!" The low hum was filling her mind, blocking out her thoughts. "Stop!" she yelled, pressing her palms to her temples. It was a futile attempt, for the mindless hum had already almost taken over. "Alex, help." She had barely murmured the words when his name was whisked from her mind.

Bobby
He hurried forward and inspected it, wincing. "I can try, but I'm not sure..." He rummaged in his pack and withdrew a few things. He gently sat Katie down and began cleaning away the blood. He peered into her eyes with a frown and withdrew eye drops from his pocket, telling her what he was about to do before dripping a couple drops into each eye.

Eudora
Eudora sighed with sheer relief. She took a few steps back and went towards Jade's tent to tell her the good news.

Katie
Katie cried out as Bobby replied the eyedrops, screwing her free hand into a tight fist, the other's nails digging into James' hand (which she'd grabbed for reassurance.). She had to resist the urge to scratch her eyes out - it felt like someone had just thrown acid in her face and left.

Bobby
"Sorry," he said, wincing. He shuffled around her and wiped the blood from her neck again, peering at the wound. He pulled a few leaves from his pocket. "Antibacterial," he murmured as he withdrew the first, "anti-inflammatory, disinfectant," he continued, adding more leaves, "and a painkiller." He put the leaves in his mouth and chewed them into a poultice. He gently smeared the poultice over the wound and wrapped it in a bandage to stop the bleeding.

Jade
She had laid back down in her blankets, the low, mindless hum filling her mind and almost lulling her to sleep. But when Eudora walked in she looked up, waiting expectantly for whatever she had to say.
