I have decided to get into Thoroughbreds. I believe I am going to do them in Racing (My parents raced TBs growing up). I'm mainly going to be focused on conformation and stats. Will start my herd out as Foundations from the EC, and perhaps buy more foundations that I can find with good conformation. As of right now, I plan to breed my 2nd generation to nice lined outside studs to bring in better color and hopefully higher conformation.
Makes it difficult. Anyone else have this problem (whether you breed TBs or not), and if so, what do you do about it? Are you willing to keep a 60+ confo foundie if they have the GG gene? (I currently have a 61 confo with GG...) What do other TB breeders breed for? Any tips? Thanks, just looking to have a conversation about TBs on EV! I don't know any other TB breeders right now, however soon I'll look into getting into a club or something :)

Gray is very pretty, but I do not want it in my herd until I reach my color goal since it will essentially cover up all that effort lol. As you can probably tell based on what I've already said, I breed mine for color, with stats coming as a second priority.

Yeah, I guess I shouldn't care THAT much about gray when my main goal is conformation.. Perhaps I'll keep my GG good confo horse but buy a 2 credit gray gene fixer.

If I were you, I'd keep the high-confo GG horse and use a gray tweak/freeze gray like you mentioned. c:

So I just got a 58.13 GG mare who also is RbRb (I breed color on my QHs and can't seem to completely escape caring... haha) so I think I plan to keep these two, and breed them together, then use the grey tweak on their foal :)

I use the coat randomizer if they are EC horses with the Gg or GG. I have quite a few nice racing TBs right now but as I just started a few weeks back am nowhere near being able to breed them. They all have all Good conformation, foundation lines, most with nice colors. Feel free to take a looksie. I plan to breed them each twice and maybe sell 1 foal from each pair :)

Dang Olympea, you really hit jackpot with a few of those foundation colors!! I just have a ton of Bays and Chestnuts... The Buckskin, a horse with Splash, and Rabiciano are the only cool colorings I've gotten.

Many are Custom or used Coat Randomizers on them. I put them in riding school daily, train daily, and treat daily to ensure they always gain stats. Hopefully they get to a decent amount before breeding.

Can the coat randomizer get rid of gray as well? Perhaps I will get a few of those and use them on my current horses!

Olympea here - sorry Saber had no idea. Yes the coat randomizer puts Gg or GG to gg.

Yeah I like both of those as well Raptor! Although I'm not breeding my TBs for color, I can't help myself but still keep color in mind. The perfect TB in my eyes (my goal to get to someday with them) is High confo and statted with beautiful colors (And I'd LOVE to have no Gray haha). That would be a perfect herd :)
