Holiday Movies

#135655 Posted on 2017-12-20 22:27:38

Looks like I am one of the few traditionalists!

- One Magic Christmas (nobody born after the 1989 knows about this one)
- White Christmas
- Holiday Inn
- It's a Wonderful Life
- Various versions of A Christmas Carol (though I prefer to see it live on stage or hear a good reading done)
- Mickey's Once Upon a Christmas
- The Grinch who Stole Christmas (the animated, Boris Karloff version)

I have never seen Elf and don't like Jim Carey. I am basically an old person in a 29 year old's body. >_>

The
Well my fave top xmas movies are

1 The Grinch (which we watch as a family on xmas eve with sweet mince pies & hot chocolate topped with marshmallow & cream & chocolate shavings)
2 The polar Express
3 White Christmas (might be showing my age now! but I like a bit of a musical as xmas) Love the scene when the big xmas tree is revealed & theres snow outside. Snow yay!
4 The Nightmare Before Christmas (Tim Burton rules)

I haven't seen A Christmas Story mentioned... that is a moral sin lol. It is the best Christmas movie tied with The Santa Clause! I also love most of the classic animated movies like the Grinch.

North, you don't have to watch Jim Carrey's Grinch, but I'm telling ya, you really SHOULD give Elf a watch! I absolutely love it! It's one of the few movies my father (who is very very picky) can watch each year and still laugh at and enjoy.
It really is good, and I'm not a crazy fan of Will Ferrow either.

WalkTrotCanter, I like a Christmas Story, but it's one of those movies I can only watch once every 5-10 Christmases and be good.

Also, I LOVE A Nightmare Before Christmas! But I watch that during Halloween time :)

To be fair I always get confused about when to watch The Nightmare Before Christmas! Some years I watch it at halloween, others Christmas.

The Nightmare Before Christmas (I watch it both at Halloween and Christmas)

The claymations (my childhood ♥)

If I could find them, Once Upon a Christmas and Twice Upon a Christmas, they never played last year (that I saw anyways) and I was sad.

Single Santa Seeks Mrs Claus and it's sequel. They are hilarious XD

Santa Clause 1 and 2, 2 being my favorite, didn't really like the third one.

I love a lot of the royal Christmas movies like A Princess For Christmas (Katie McGrath people!), Crown For Christmas, A Royal Christmas (Jane Seymour!), A Christmas Prince (Rose McIver ♥), etc XD

Oh and pretty much the only version I like of The Christmas Carol is the Musical one, as far as those that stick to the actual story.

I also like A Carol Christmas and Its Christmas Carol (Carrie Fisher played what would be that ones version of Marley, though she shows up way more then him ♥)

Forever and always "Elf". I also love Tim Allen's "The Santa Clause" movies, particularly the third one. I adore Martin Short and Tim Allen.
