I think the game is currently really boring with the same ole breeds that have been in the game since 2006.  I would like to have more breeds available which would open more clubs and showings and maybe make the game more popular to draw in more players.
I have searched and searched for this topic and I can't seem to find any suggesting it so don't hate on me if I missed a topic suggesting it.

I also know all the old old players that have been around for years will disagree with me but I honestly don't care, this is about drawing more players in, not keeping the same players around.

Another thing which will make the game way less boring is allowing cross breeding between different breeds, but that is a separate topic for another day.

This has been a hot topic in the past.

I believe Abbey has said that she may add more breeds to the game as time goes on, but it won't necessarily be a huge priority. As for crossbreeding, that has been a topic for discussion as well, there is even a post out there listing all the crossbreeds we could possibly add to the game.
Its not like this won't happen, but it's not something anyone is eager to rush. Correct me if I am wrong, but I think people are more interested in foal art, and more colors/genes to add to the current breeds.

This has kinda been discussed to death, particularly right after some breeds were removed when this incarnation of the game opened. Last I knew there were no plans at present to add back any of the old breeds/add new breeds, but I too would like to see this happen. There might be a thread about this in the general discussion section; I vaguely recall listing breeds I'd like see somewhere, but that was quite some time ago.

As far as crossbreeding, I thought there was something in regards to that that was actually going to happen (Anglo-Arabs), but I'm not sure whatever happened with that. I'd only support it if it were limited to real life permissible outcrosses (e.g. QH x Appaloosa, TB x Paint, Trakehner x TB, etc).

New breeds will most likely not be added at any time in the future due to what happened when we had more breeds in the old game. Too many breeds did not have enough serious breeders and started to affect the economy. It was hard for those with rare breeds because not enough strong breeders were with them.

Crossbreeding realistic possibilities would be nice, as RD said above ^

would be nice to maybe add a little more of variety of horse breeds, maybe another set of 10 breeds, maybe have a voting poll down the road to get an idea:) I would love to see at least a couple more of European, Russian and maybe Canadian breeds added, tho EV bases their selections on most popular mainly American breeds, would be nice to see that additional diversity from other countries.
Marwari, Russian don,Budyonny,Canadian Warmblood and so forth, but in the end it is Abbeys call

I would love to see either another draft breed (Shire, Percheron, Irish Draught, Belgians, Ardennes, Comtois etc), another warmblood breed (Hanoverian, Holsteiner, Oldenburg, Irish Sporthorse, Selle Francais etc) or another large pony breed (Connemara, Haflinger, Fjord, Highland Pony, Brumby etc).

We have mostly American breeds, so it'd be nice to have some variations and breeds like Percherons and Belgians are popular in RL. I know Abbey has said it'll be a while before new breeds are added.

If cross breeding is added, I do think cross breeding should only be allowed if the offspring becomes a recognised type/breed in itself (eg Anglo Arab, Appendix Quarter Horse, Morab, Pintabian, Quarab, Warlander) and that could allow more freedom in the available breeds. A breed like Irish Draught could be introduced, allowing for a cross-breed like an Irish Sporthorse (similarly, a Percheron could allow a Spanish-Norman)

If a new breed is added, to help promote the breed and attract interest I think it should be one with a wide range of colours/genes. Fjords and Haflingers are limited in their colours, Brumby's aren't as limited. Connemara's can carry sooty, cream and I'm fairly sure they can carry Flaxen too but no coat patterns. Irish Sporthorses can carry any/all colours bar champagne/spotty. Oldenburg's can have tobiano. Irish Draughts can be bay, grey, chestnut, dun, black or brown with excessive white markings being undesirable.

I think adding in any new breeds is a long way off, but I have no objection to it happening once we think the economy can handle it.

When it does happen, I think it's important that the new breed is unique in some way, so it offers something new to the game, rather than just more of the same. Otherwise there won't be much incentive for people to work with it. So a breed that comes in limited colours, and has a similar build to the existing warmbloods would be too similar to what we already have to be worthwhile. Likewise, even though the game has very few draft horse breeds, another solidly built draft horse breed with limited colour options is too similar to the Clydesdale to offer much merit.

Some breeds that would be unique enough that I think they could do well here:
- Marwari - unique ears, lots of colours, e.g. cream, tobiano, grey, possibly white.
- Noriker - solidly built draft horse with lots of patterns, e.g. appaloosa spotting, tobiano, overo and roan.
- Knabstrupper - warmblood build, known for their appaloosa spotting.
- Bashkir Curly - curly coat, including mane and tail, lots of colours and patterns, e.g. cream, dun, appaloosa, grey, pinto, roan.
- Fjord - always has dun, mane is usually trimmed so it's upright, and often so it shows off the two colours in the mane. Could offer some unique mane customisation options.

I'm on the fence with this one. I do miss my brumby herd but at the same time it was almost too hectic with all the breeds that we used to have.

I do like UlyssesBlue's choice of potential candidates for future breeds. Right now I'm not going to vote either way because as much as I want more breeds on the other hand I don't because of the complications it can cause when not managed properly.

Dons, Warlanders (which we could actually currently do, since we already have Andalusians and Friesians), and Knabstruppers would put me over the moon. Those would be so cool to have.

I miss Fjords :( They were never that popular but my absolute favorite. Had I not been in sixth grade and had actually known what I was doing, I would've been an invested breeder. I miss the Knabstrupper's too, they were unique and had adorable breed art.

In the older version, I was doing Fjords and Knabstruppers too.
Those two breeds will always a have a special place in my heart ♥

I loved their art. I was a huge fan of the somewhat cartoony looking breed art.

Cross breeds will most likely make their way into the game before any more unique breeds, and before cross breeds will probably be foal art.  So new unique breeds are a LONG way off.

... Must not explode with excitement because of how much I love Donkeys.... Donkeys would be an interesting one since they do come in a few colours and pattern types, but I don't know how many people would actually want them.
