Wild and Free (Sign-Ups)

A herd of wild horses are wandering in search of grass and water.
But little do they know that a band of winged unicorns, strong and powerful, are watching their every move, waiting for their chance.

That was years ago. The herd's members are slaves to the winged unicorns, and none have considered escape possible... until now.

Attempts at escaping are made more and more often, as the herd's rebellious thoughts grow stronger and stronger.

Will the enslaved horses get away? Or will their captors remain in control?



Rules

-No controlling other people's characters
-Third person only
-Romance is allowed, but not too much, and don't expect me to do it with my characters (If you don't want to do romance, put it in Anything Else, so everybody is aware)
-Just to be clear, the horns on the unicorns are NOT magical
-You can have some of your characters be the unicorns, as well
-If you want to be leader of either herd, unicorns or normal horses, post in Anything Else
-If you read these rules, put 🐴 in Anything Else

Name: Dutchess
Age: 7 (Adult)
Gender: Mare
Breed: Quarter Horse
Personality: She puts effort into being cheerful and energetic, but her eyes glint with depression, whenever nobody's looking. Dutchess believes the herd should try to escape, but doesn't mention it often, for fear of the unicorns hearing. She'll trust you, but can never trust anyone enough to tell them her support of escaping. She's very faithful, but can hardly hide her sorrow, after hiding it so long already.
Description: Dutchess has a silky, golden Palomino coat, but it's covered with dirt and burrs. She has a short, tangled white mane, and a long, scruffy tail, and her eyes are like shiny, wood colored beads.

Other Relatives: None she knows of
Anything Else: She dreams of being the leader's mate, although she's already a strong leader through her encouragement for the entire herd.


Name: Eiffel

Breed: Arabian x Unknown
Personality: She's energetic, bubbly, and excitable, hardly effected by being enslaved, nor by her parents both being gone. She's not very mature for her age, but doesn't care at all, and is very hard to faze.
Description: She's all black, but will gray out eventually, with a brilliant white star on her forehead.

Other Relatives: She has a twin brother, Thistle, but her mother died when she was born, and her father vanished.

Personality: Growing up in the shadow of Eiffel, Thistle is fairly quiet, but plays with his sister all the time, and talks endlessly the few times he has the chance.
Description: Thistle is a fiery chestnut, his coat almost glowing when hit by the light, with Tobiano markings, and a bald face marking.

Name: Asteroid
Age: 9 (Adult)
Gender: Stallion
Breed: Unicorn
Personality: He's aloof, and thinks he's the best of the best. Nothing could make his opinion of himself any worse, making him almost ridiculously proud, and he never tires of making fun of the prisoners, he finds them no better than mules, something he doesn't bother to hide. He expects everyone to fear him, only showing respect for the leader of the unicorns.
Description: Aster is a dark bay, with glittering copper wings and horn. His hooves are shiny gray, with knife like edges, making his hoof print unique.

Other Relatives: N/A
Anything Else: He used to have a mate, but she was badly treated by him, and ran off one day, gone by morning.

this reminds me of an old story plot I was thinking of about a year ago! sounds fun!

Name: Vierra
Age: 12 years (adult)
Gender: mare
Breed: winged unicorn
Personality: Vierra is vain, and she knows it. She dreams of being the unicorn leader's mate one day- for the power, not the love. She is very good at pretending, though, so of course she will act like she loves him to gain his attention. Her sweet voice drips with trickery and danger.
Description: Vierra is a nimble white mare, with dark gray leopard appaloosa spots. Her mane and tail have a few dark gray streaks because of these spots; they are of average length, thick, and wavy. She has gray mottling on her muzzle and around her eyes, as well as striped hooves- features of many appaloosas. Her eyes are dark blue, and they can look purple at times. Her horn is solid black, and her wings are black as well, with silver-tipped feathers. She is described by many as shockingly beautiful.
Mate: can she be the lead stallion's mate?
Foals: none as of yet, but she plans on having some with the lead stallion (she's intent on becoming his mate, it's her life goal lol)

Name: Rissa
Age: 15 years (adult)
Gender: mare
Breed: Quarter Horse x Thoroughbred
Personality: Rissa is very no-nonsense. She is straight to the point and blunt. She trusts hardly no one, and only gets attached to those she cares about most. She is battle-hardened from rebelling against the unicorns, and had to watch as her older brother and mother were savagely killed. Shortly after, her father commit suicide because of it. Rissa was left alone to face the world, and even though she was an adult, she felt utterly lost. She has never been the social type, so she has to rely on her own stubbornness and wit.
Description: Rissa is a lean, scarred, wild bay mare with some sooty. Her mane and tail are of average length, but rather choppy and unkempt. Her emotionless eyes are a dull olive green color.
Mate: she isn't interested in romance
Foals: n/a
Other Relatives: dead parents and older brother
Anything Else: she obviously can't be the lead stallion, but she thinks of herself as a leader figure because she is good at planning and being in charge... maybe a second-in-command? she can't be lead mare because she doesn't want a mate, but she wants to take charge and not just sit in the crowd either 🐴

If we end up not having important roles for either herd (like leaders), I'll gladly make more characters ^^

@Raptor: Accepted! She sounds like a great lead mare, but we don't have a lead stallion yet, so... If we get a lead stallion, then sure! I just might make Asteroid lead stallion, if I can't get anyone else for it, we'll see.

Gender: Stallion
Breed: Winged Unicorn
Personality: Tomb is a clever individual, one that is intelligent but in a quiet, knowing, and smug kind of way. While his words aren't condescending most of the time, when he knows something others don't, he can get secretively mischievous. He doesn't play pranks or fools around though, when he knows something, its usually something important. Anything else is out of mind quickly. He does have a caring streak, he does care about the people he knows but that's hardly ever shown publicly.
Description: Tomb is strong in a lean muscular kind of way. His coat is very a very light grey dapple color to go along with his long black mane and tail. His eyes are a dark brown color, almost black to match his pupils. Resting between them is a bright white interrupted stripe marking. His horn matches well with his mane as does his dark wings which fade off from black to a gray to match his coat.

Breed: Marwari
Personality: Noble is one someone would call a spit fire. He has no filter on what he chooses to say or not, and isn't afraid to speak honestly. He constantly has some sort of energy for the wild side, but some may say that he's lost a few screws in the head. He loves to mess with others, and fill ideas within their heads for he has nothing better to do.
Description: Noble is a very slim fellow with always the high posture, curved ears, and skippy steps, his name does him well. His coat is a pretty dark bay with the exception of his four white socks, and snip at the end of his dark nose. His eyes are a warm chocolate brown.

Personality: Umbra is rather nervous, unsure of herself, and submissive. Despite this, she's kind and wants to be helpful. Due to her kind nature, she secretly feels bad for the enslaved horses.
Description: Umbra is a black roan, her coat resembling a starry night sky. She has a star on her forehead and her short black horn has spots on it, like her coat. Since she's just a foal, Umbra is still smaller than the adult horses, and she is also on the skinnier side.

Personality: Snobby and proud, enjoys an argument and won't give his slaves any slack. He is looking for power and will turn behind the back of others to achieve this however to his one or two friends he is extremely loyal and will protect them to the end of his life.
Description: Black overo stallion, mainly white on his left side and black on his right side, his mane and tail are midnight black and trail along behind him. His wings are black but at the tips fade into white, summed up as a magpie of the mystic world.
Mate: open, needs to find a complementary character to his personality.

Anything Else: Looking to be beta in the herd (?)

Age: 7
Gender: mare
Breed: mustang
Personality: brave and strong leadership qualities, very caring to the younger horses under unicorns control, tries to teach them the tricks to avoid their masters watchful gaze. Now pining for a mate but knows the dangers of having a mate under the unicorns control. Will not bring a foal into the world whilst she is under control.
Description: Mottled tobiano bay, whiter head and legs with scruffy long mane, deep brown eyes filled with quiet determination, would be beautiful if she could run free.
Mate: Needs (anyone like to play her mate)
Foals: Wants!
Other Relatives: (could have a sister?)
Anything Else: could be lead stallions mate but happy to just be a senior respected mare in the herd.

Tiger, could you change the color of Cobalt's mane and tail to be more realistic? Also, I don't want there to be an actual beta, but he can be second in command, unofficially. (Like the person horse the leader looks to for advice/help when he needs it)
