Custom Tack Colors

I'm not sure if this would be possible, but I would love it if we could customize the colors of the tack. There are a bunch of pet breeding games where you can choose the colors of the pet with a color picker:



If we could have something similar be done with the tack, I think that would be amazing. I'm not sure how the files for the tack are uploaded, though, so I'm not sure it'd be possible to change the color without messing up the shading. I got this idea after seeing Ulysses' post about jousting, and was thinking how cool customizing the colors of jousting tack could be. I'm always up for ways to customize just about anything. xD

This would be almost impossible to implement with how tack has currently been done. I am currently considering different colours of tack as an option, but I would not be able to offer RGB selections for them without getting tack pieces completely redrawn, which is not something I want to do.

It also takes a fair bit of processing power to customise and save images in such a way, so it would slow the game down if I ever introduced this.

It's a lovely idea, but unfortunately not really something that I can do.

Not that it needs to be said since Abbey already ruled on it, but... at the risk of being confronted with hot pink saddles and neon green bridles, I vote no support. xD

If an RGB colour picking system isn't possible, then just having multiple set colours would be great. I'd be equally happy with either option.

Ahhh, I was afraid that might be so, Abbey. I'd be happy with a few different set colors, as well!

To me, even with pre-colored sets, it would look too unorganized... that being said, I'd definitely use this feature if it were ever to be implemented, but some people might make some questionably unappealing color choices that might make some other people twitch, to say the least lol

I would be happy if you just had a handful of colors to pick from like said before.

I'm not sure why people are complaining about the color choices that other people might pick. If you don't like hot pink bridles, don't use them, and if other people use them, don't look at their horse's picture. It doesn't really affect you. Also, isn't there going to be an option to disable tack art? That could always be an option as well.

Of course, Abbey already said this isn't going to be possible, so it's a moot point. But wouldn't the limited set colors also require a redrawing of the artwork? Of course, it could just be me being ignorant of the way it was drawn/how it works. xD

I know the colors wouldn't really affect anyone else, but too many contrasting colors might make the game look really nonuniform. That being said, premade color sets might not be entirely bad I guess.

A full RGB slider option may not be possible, but I would definitely like to see some more options for tack colours.

You could actually do it where you buy the tack the same as we do now, but keep it uniform by having color chosen on the horses page. Like, all tack on [horse] will be [brown, black, etc.] . Maybe saddle pads/boots being a different color choice, if you wanted them to be custom too.

I'm indifferent but maybe each tack level could have a different color? So each would have 5 options and the color you prefer, you could just leave at that level?

I support with premade color choices. I think it would be better if the bridles and saddles were brown, black, dark brown, tan, etc. then the saddle pads can be the more exotic colors (blue, white, yellow, red, purple, etc.).

@RemRem Interesting idea. Perhaps it could be the leather that is a set colour, then the fabric parts, like saddle pad, boots, bridle browband, and various decorative parts that could be different colours.

That or maybe like Rem said, you could have a few leather colors to pick from like light oil, medium oil, and dark oil maybe. Then like UlyssesBlue said, you could have like you saddle pad, splint boots, tail guards if then come, and reins if they aren't leather. Basically anything that isn't leather you could pick from a few also. I just kind of put what everyone said that I agreed with together so yeah, I hope this makes sense.
