You can see the update in my latest reply, in the comments section So, my dear 9 month old kitty Kiara is having loads of trouble. The vets (and us), suspect she has a blockage. So, tomorrow she is having a procedure (can't remember the actual name of they'll be doing lol) , and possibly an exploratory surgery to see what's going on. She hasn't eaten or drank anything in days. Kiara just came home last night, with little to no improvement. We'll be taking her back tomorrow, for the long list of things they'll be doing plus an overnight stay. Let's just say the vet bills aren't pretty and that's just so far. But, we'll do everything and anything for our baby. All I can do is hope that she'll pull through as I can't go through the pain of losing another pet so close to Cleo's death. Losing a pet is heartbreaking enough, but losing one only months after you lost another is heart-wrenching. But, let's not lose faith in dear Kiara, she should pull through if all goes well. Anyways, keep my dear girl in your thoughts and enjoy these pictures of her from when we brought her home. Last edited on 2017-03-10 at 05:41:39 by Sib

So, Kiara's surgery went smoothly. She had a long piece of tinsel bunched up in her intestines and had to have 6-8 inches of her intestines removed in order to get it out. She also had a piece of plastic in her stomach that they got out. They say Kiara should be fine, and recover nicely. It will take a bit before she's her crazy active self again. She'll be staying overnight at the vet for another few days to monitor her and make sure she's doing alright. She's hooked to an IV giving her fluids, and oxygen as well.

That's one reason I gave up on tinsel and garland. My pups tend to eat pretty much anything that hits the ground. Glad the procedure went well and your precious kitten will be coming home to you!

Urgh, that is NO FUN. We call it a linear foreign body..... my grandmother's cat had one when I was like 6. I grew up to be a vet tech. Several months ago, I had a client 89 years old come in with her beautiful Siamese cat with the same thing. My grandmother's cat lived to be 19 years old and the Siamese is doing beautifully as well but it was a struggle to get her to eat again. And ugh it is not cheap. Please keep us updated. ♥ ♥ ♥

So, she's been back home for quite awhile and is back to running around the house, causing mayhem. But, she's more spoiled and loved now, if that were even possible lol. She's still got some discomfort on her belly where her incision was. Staples were removed on 2/10.
