Club Presidency Candidacy

Hello!

I wanted to try and run for Club President, but the site refused to let me do so - the error message being that I need enough Deluxe days left to make it to the end of my term.

To the best of my knowledge, presidencies run from the first to the last of the month, which would amount to 31 days in January. There are still 11 days left to December, so I would need in excess of 42 Deluxe days, by that calculation.

I have 55.

Anyone an idea WHY it won't accept my candidacy?

If I remember right you have to have two full months for the game to register that your account has enough deluxe days to extend the whole presidency, a month of campaigning and a month of presidency. Sadly I don't know the exact number of days, but I'm fairly certain it was near 60 when people started having this issue.

Actually a quick forum search lead me to this topic where it's confirmed you need at least 60 days of deluxe time to account for a month of running and a month of presidency!

Then why does the error message not tell me so?

I checked the help desk and the club pages and neither informed me of this; had I known in time, I could have bought more credits from the market at more reasonable prices. Besides, there are no other candidates yet and I doubt a full month of campaigning is necessary?

Theoretically, I can understand the apparent rule, it just doesn't make much sense to me practically. Nor the fact that the error message does not reflect this. I'll take a look at the Suggestions board though to see if someone else thought this odd too and maybe suggest a change, especially if a full month campaigning is not required.

(I coded this badly and it needs to change, that's why it doesn't say - I will try to do it for next month's candidates - sorry!!)
